Better call Macco?

I am having my mirror skull caps painted and they are doing it for 30.00 each, 60.00 total, that is base and then clear.

Anybody use them before?

Seems to be good from what I can tell...

BTW, the ford dealer gave me a price of 125.00 bones for the same thing.

Got one more place to call tomorrow.

I was going to just rattle can them myself but I just rather pay a bit more and know they will come out right the first time.

Just make sure you do the prep work and they should be fine.

I smashed the glass when trying to take it apart... so I had a local chain body shop install the caps for me. It was $100 installed.

I am actually buying the PTM caps from ford which come primed and ready to shoot. I was told by both places that I need these...I was going to use mine and sand them down/prime them but the new PTM caps are ready to go.

I've got the towing mirrors and I have taken the bottom off before...It came off ok. I hope the tops are the same.

I have the towing mirrors also. I busted the passenger side top glass. I bought a new piece of glass from Ford and had the body shop do the whole swap. It was cheaper for them to swap mirror caps (I got the primed ones also) then for another piece of glass if I screwed it up twice.

Save yourself some money and just sand the ones you have.

That is a third more then I paid for mine. It was more worth my time to just buy them.

My friend that works at a body shop did. I just sanded them down before giving them to him. Started off with 120 and went to 220 and ended with 400. I was going to end with 1000, but I could find any. They still came out well. I paid him $60 to paint them.
