Post Any trapshooters here?

Guys,

I've got a 12 ga. Browning Citori Combo (Trap) and would like to find out what it's worth. I haven't been able to find a general price for it on the web. I guess the 'Combo' is no longer made, or at least, no one's selling them at the usual auction sites. Any ideas?

gofish,

Check out http://www.firearmstp.com/default.asp and see if anyone has a similar shotgun for sale.

My Wife shoots trap (Remington 1100) and is looking for a Beretta AL391. My interest is purely out of fear for p*ssing her off.

Webmaster,

Thanks for the link. I checked it out. No one's selling one. I guess they're not that popular, or maybe they're real popular. I can't tell. I haven't found one for sale in the last 60 days on the web. But I appreciate the response! fish

I use to work at trap shooting place here in Kentucky. I do not remember that exact model but some go for several thousand dollars. You might be able to contact the place I use to work thier web address is www.elkcreekhuntclub.com, the owner of this club is Curtis Sigreto. They might be able to help you in this search.

Your wife has a nice gun, IMO. Beretta is a very good gun also.

You might check here: http://www.gunsamerica.com/. They have a pretty extensive listing of firearms, so you might be able to find something to give you some ideas.

I think you might be confusing the Superposed with the Citori. I can't imagine a used Citori going for several thousand dollars. The Belgian made Superposed is a very desireable gun. The Japanese made Citori was the "economy" model, but that doesn't mean to say it was ever a cheap gun.

I haven't kept up with shotguns past the 80s, so I could just be shooting dummies here.

Thanks for all the responses, guys! I haven't yet found a listing, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the input any less.

I have yet to see a Citori Combo on the block. I can't even find a manu listing. When I bought it in ('83?) I think I paid about $1200 for the set, so I'm figuring it's gone up, but certainly not like the 'Superposed'.

gofish, In this month's Trap & Field there's an ad for one. Citori Plus Combo, 34"/30" barrels, hard case 99% for $2000. Give Roger Jack a call at 405-282-5700. He's in Okla. and handles Brownings.

I could be wrong about which guns were in the thousand dollar+ range since it's been about 4 years since I worked there and I was never into the trap guns that much anyways. In my book any shotgun over $500 is starting to get a little pricey ( maybe I'm a tight wad).
On the other hand I did see where MN-Trap siad he had seen a combo in a mag for $2000, and gofish said he paid $1200, but he sis say set, so I figure two guns/barrels. Now that I think about it I think the guns that I was thinking of last night that are supposed to be high priced guns is a Kregioff (spelling is off)

No need to feel that way. There's nothing wrong with a Mossberg. My dad and I actaully own one. It's a Mossberg 500 turkey gun with an extra full choke, man does that thing kick with magnum shells.

My dad has that same turkey gun.Never has shot a turkey w/it. He is like beggin for me to let him hunt on my 26 acres surrounded by blm w/ wild turkeys galore.Maybe next year I will let him. LOL.
BTW I maybe a cheapskate but I think any shotgun over 300 bucks is tooo much.My mossburg is the base model 12 gauge. It does everything I will ever need (mountain quail, grouse-blue&ruffed and an occasional pheasant).Man I can't wait for this fall to get here.need to go hunting

Thumbs up

Mossberg owner here as well - 2 actually. First one was a Mod 500A 12ga, and recently acquired a Mod 835 Ultimag 12ga. I can't justify (to myself, more than anyone) spending big $$$ on something that is going to go some of the places I go with mine!

KYFordFreak, like I said I haven't kept up with it for many years. I wonder what a set is? I've seen all gauge sets where you just switch the barrels. The Superposed all gauge (.410, 28, 20, 12) sets went for thousands of dollars years ago.

Wonder if they did the same with their Citori line?

Hey Guys,

Thanks a lot!! My 'Citori Combo' is a "set", in the sense that it comes with two sets of barrels, one 30" F, and the other,
34" F / IM(?). I can't remember, I haven't looked at it in a long time. (I'm at work.) fish
