Post New driver in the family...........

My oldest got his license today! For a variety of reasons I had to drive him to Cape Cod (100 miles) to do it. He ran a freakin' red light right away, but passed anyway. Stopped in Wareham (just off-Cape) to pick up his car and drive home. Cruisin' along I-495 and he passes me with a BIG wave! I get behind him and the other traffic and they're doin' 90mph. When I got a chance to get aside of him I signaled to slow down.
Two miles from the house and he dissappears! Have'nt seen him since! Is this a sign of my future? Any other similar stories? Dennis

hmmm. Similiar stories...You mean like, driving habits of 16 year-olds?? When I was 16, I pulled a wheelie in a stock '68 Olds 98, does that count? er, actually, I was going over the railroad tracks at ~50 mph, and that's how I got the front wheels up. Dunno how I kept the car straight when it landed. Man, was my father pissed when he felt the ride afterwards. I'll never tell. fish.

Wink

Paid his own insurance @ $1900.00! Yeah I remember drivin my Dad's '68 Wildcat with a 430ci, four barrel carbs. Did'nt see him in Mom's '64 Falcon as I put down a few feet of rubber on the pavement. Said he chased me but never could catch me. Boy, did I catch it later. I eventually totaled it when my buddy hit me in the *** at the end of my street. Dad was upset that he lost the car but he made out really well since he totaled it previously, bought it from the insurer and rebuilt it. This time he took the money and ran! Those were the days! hey FourHour
Do you get to Wareham often? My family has a summer plce there.

I remember when I got my licence back in 1976. My mother had a Pontiac station wagon with a 455 4 barrel. The day I got my licence myself and about 5 buudies hopped in that car and raced every thing we could find. We even blew away a Corvette, that Pontiac kicked some serious butt.

Well after a few speeding tickets my dad gave me a old 1969 Bronco with a 170 strait six with a three on the tree, top speed 65 mph(down hill)

What did you buy your son?

As you can see from my sig my need for speed has never ended, LOL.

No tickets yet(knock on wood). Rear ended the day before I traded in my 95 Eddie Bauer 150. Didn't do anything to the truck. The guy that hit me was driving some kind of jap. sports car so it's hood was real low. My hitch tore up his hood. Couple lights also got tore up. Gave each other our phone # in case of any problems. Haven't got a call from him.

Cool

Don C: That was the first time I was in Wareham since they finally connected I-495 to the Bourne Bridge. The old days of driving through Wareham (parking lot) on weekends to and from the Cape. That was good for an extra hour. I don't miss that at all!
Have a place across the street from the Bass River Golf Course in Yarmouth. Wifes Sister lives in Yarmouth and Brother lives in Harwich. Also enjoy Misquamicut Beach in Westerly, Rhode Island. It's only 20 minutes from Foxwood Casino in Connecticut. Ever been to either place?
