OK -- maybe I don't need to worry about replacing my daily driver Ranger for another 100,000 miles......

I drive quite a bit. about 100 miles a day. 48 each way to work and then the running around town. I bought the truck with 3 miles on it in 6-05 and am sitting on 82,xxxmiles. My ride to work is usually into Chicago and let me tell you it sucks. On the way in it's about an hour and 10minutes and on the way home it's about an hour and a half atleast.

Ouch! If you crunch the numbers on that (figuring 2 weeks of vacation per year and a 5-day work week) you spend almost 29 days of your year rotting in traffic! If I were in your shoes, I'd seriously consider whether your limited time on this earth should be wasted on such a worthless pursuit.....

2 weeks vacation? HA! I do masonry labor. Our vacation is every day it rains or is too cold to mix mortar. When I first started I was working in Tinley Park. That was a 72 mile 1 way trip. Gotta go where the job is and it's kinda nice being able to drive a different route every couple months.

16 mile round trip.
But I have two to three delivery cars on the road everyday.
Average about 250 miles worth of travel, and we do not turn the engines off when they leave for their routes.

I feel better not being the only one de-valuing my truck quickly! My condolences go out to you fellows putting up with traffic in Chicago daily. I too use to be a 6 mile round trip guy, but work one day decided to move more into the city. Now I'm still trying to get use to getting up an hour earlier.
