Talking Any other rain gods out there?

I have this uncanny talent... as soon as the truck is washed and I'm finishing drying the last panel it starts to rain...

Anyone else have this same 'talent'?

BMA, that is Murphys Law working for you. LOL I noticed that you live in Virginia, the wife and I are moving to VA Beach within a month.

As far as washing followed by a raining, that happens to me EVERY SINGLE TIME. It may not rain RIGHT after I wash it, but I can almost rely on rain the next day. Thats why I wax it immediately afterwards so it has some nice "beading" for all that acid rain.

I figure, if farmers are suffering from drought, they could always hire me to come wash my truck at their farm, next day, Green healthy crops...LOL

And of course a few hours later the sun comes out beaming :-) Megiuar's Mist & Wipe detailer and a terrycloth towel works wonders though

Living in Buffalo, NY it's not rain that is the problem - it's snow! We start getting it in October & it will snow thru April, sometimes into May!
I just saw a Rain-X car wash. It CLAIMS it will not strip wax, is safe for clear coat & that after washing the water sheets off & you don't need to dry before waxing. Here's my idea - wash the truck, get a good wax coat on it then wash it AGAIN with Rain-X so that when it does rain/snow it won't stick or spot! At the very least I'll have a squeaky clean truck! LOL!

oh man I thought I was the only one with this terrific talent! My powers are so strong that a few weeks back, not only did I give my truck the best wash and wax it'd ever had but also scheduled with a friend to help him move this day. We got the first blizzard in three years with more then 18" of snow... in the middle of april for crying out loud!

One time with my old truck... I just washed it, about 20 minutes later its pouring rain, for about 4-5 minutes. SO I go out, dry it off completely again figuring its done. ABout an hour later, rains again, really hard, for about 4-5 minutes. Getting a little peeved I go out and dry it AGAIN, and you guessed it sure enough, it rained really hard for 4-5 minutes. Well I figure ok I've just about had all the drying I can take so I'll do this one more time... so I go out and I dry it real good one last time. You guessed it, about 30 minutes later it rained really hard again for about 4-5 minutes. So I said screw it, not gonna dry it again... it didn't rain again for a week and I had a truck with all those unsightly waterspots, LOL

cphilip,
I'm with you on this one. We couldn't even see a 1/4 mile around here last week with the big fire near Sumter.

Anybody that can make it rain by washing your truck, please visit South Carolina. We are in the 6th year of drought here and are beginning to look like Florida with all the fires.

Send water!!!!

Fellow gods/goddess,
I did last night and even did it twice!
I had just finished drying and was starting the detailing, I went inside for about 20 minutes and I came out it had rained a little bit. So, I dry the truck off again and finished detailing, went to put the hose away and it rained again for about 1 minute. I dried the truck again and this time no rain.

This was the first real handwashing for my truck this year. I sure miss it.

Oh quit whining about the snow Cowlady!!
I live here in Syracuse, just "down the road" from you and we whiped your butts in snowfall this year! 192.1 inches to be exact!!

But I do feel your pain though, my wax seemed to last aout 1 snowfall and that was it. I'll be damned if I'm going to wax it once a week!! My truck has the measles, caused by rail dust and my *OLD* dealer accused me of not caring for the vehicle during the winter. DUH! If a weekly car wash isn't enough, than the paint job is faulty in my opinion!!

YES-I-DO!!!!

And it pisses me off. Especially living in the Hurricane/Lightning/Thunder Storm capital of the USA. From May to November, it rains everyday around 4 or 5 p.m. for about 5 to 10 minutes. Just enough to make it so humid you can hardly catch your breath. On the weekends this is a problem. I usually start cleaning my truck around 9 or 10 a.m. on Saturdays, and finish up around 4 or 5 p.m. Just about when it likes to **** from the sky for about 10 minutes. I've tried waiting to pull it out of the garage until 6 or 7...it works, but then about 30 minutes pass, then a freak cloud appears, and dumps on my neighborhood for about 2 minutes. GODDAMNIT that pisses me off!!!!

Hopefully with my new house, this won't be a problem, maybe the cloud won't know where I am...
