Post Other Ford Model Question/Help

I had to go to Fort Bragg this weekend and clean out the garage of my wifes Aunt whos husband passed away. As a result I also towed home a 1977 Ford Mustang that she wanted removed. It was a future restore/play car of her Uncles which he never got to start.
I need to know from you older Ford buffs if anything is of value in this car or just send it to the junk yard as she suggested as a option.
Its a 1977 Ford Mustang 57,000 miles with a V8 302 with auto trans. Body is rusty in a few spots but metal panels are all good with no other damage. Interior is fair except for the seats which are in excellent condition.
Now my question is how much are the engine/trans and various parts worth if I parted it out? Local wrecker there offered 40.00 to haul it off but I figured that it has to have some more value than that in some of the parts. It has not been run in a year and she said it did run when it was last parked. It has no battery in it now to try and I don`t really want to buy one to see if it does and possibly turn around and dump the car.

Any ideas on the best way to rid my driveway of this beast while still sending her a little cash from it??

Thanks ahead for any help or suggestions.

Hey,
I parted 1 very much like this a few years ago.
Plus side is you should be able to get in around $1000 - $1500 +/-
downside is it takes time and efort to get the connections to part it out.

one suggestion you may want to think about is if it is in decent condition then go ahead and "borrow" a battery from another car to see if it will run. If so sell it should bring at least a few hundred with little effort on your part

Good Luck
