To Kill or To Be Killed?
I drove up on a chevy 4x4 extra-cab yesterday. He was all decked out with goodies on the outside and I saw the dual exhaust out the back. He was waiting for me to get beside him but I never took the bait as my truck is completely stock. I wasn't sure what would happen. After a little bit he just floored it and took off(in a cloud of exhaust).
I did want to give him a kill to talk about.
I probably should have tried, as you'll always win some and lose some. I just wasn't ready to lose.
Is this a negative attitude or what?
Should I have gone for it?
Do you take on anyone or are you selective?
Anyone with a blower for sale?

REDBUCK - you did good. It's not a negative attitude at all. I don't go after every truck I see because SO MANY are so UNWORTHY of the extra gas! I've found that some guys with the cosmetic mods have little under the hood & really aren't much of a kill anyhow. Think of it this way - you wouldn't race some kid on a Big Wheel would you? Same goes for this guy!
Hey Ragarm - we should pool our resources! I bet we could order stuff in bulk & save $ - then we'd BOTH be able to do what we want w/our trucks! LOL! Stop in chat any nite & we can decide what to buy next!!

Hey Ms. Bovine!

Whenever I see a Truck with a TON (literally) of 'extras' I already know one thing: Because of the added weight and wind resistance, it is slower than stock, unless they did the same under the hood. Often, they didn't touch the engine compartment so as not to void the warrenty, so I go for it every chance I get.
I once saw a dodge that had been lowered with the wheels sticking out. It said to me: "Please Kick my @ss" so I did!
I didn't beat him by as much as I thought I would, but then I remembered that I was loaded with over 1/2 a ton of deliveries in the bed!

Hehe, I shouldn't post this here, but since I am getting a new Ford within a month I will. I pulled up to a F-250 4x4 Regular cab v8, I was in my current truck, a 99 Dodge Ram 4x2 V8. He was looking down on me literally so that pissed me off. He had his truck all slick looking and waxed so I really wanted to waste him. He had that "Lets Race" face so I figured what the hell. It was at 5:30 in the afternoon on a 4 lane road. Since we both were the first cars at the light we were set. The light goes green and I smoke em. Immediately I had him and he never gained ground on me. I was about 3 truck lengths ahead by the time we hit the 70mph mark. He backed off so then I did. LOL, he never came up to me at the next light, he fell back about 6 cars or so. That was sweet, I like Ford but I also like Dodge. My dad has a F-150 Supercab V-8, his truck is the Ford equivelant of mine and he cannot come close to beating me.

redbuck: never be afraid to try, i beat a z71 last year with my v6 5 spd. it was a 2 lane road that became a 1 lane road in about 2 blocks. he pulled up beside me at the light and i knew one of us would be hittin the binders to make the merge.
i know many don't believe this one but he lost. my girlfriend was with me so i do have a witness. his tires spun a little more then mine but the outcome was one shovie looking at ford taillights.
i really wanted to stop and let him know that he had just been toasted by a v6 but why rub it in.
never say never right.

Dangerous post BigOne... but I think people will forgive you when they see you in that new SuperDuty.
Enjoy hot-rodding while you can. It only takes a couple of times of "dropping the hammer" on the V10 before you realize it's a costly endeavor. Scared the heck out of me when I heard the fuel tank collapse that first time.

I've been pleasantly surprised by the performance of my 4.6 when it comes down to situations such as this
It usually ends as a win,or a tie. Never have had a chevy walk away from me. I haven't ever really instigated a race,it's always the Chevy guy who has something to prove.
Usually the guy driving the filthy mid 90's
work truck, with the baloney tipped dual exhaust. One of which invariably is sqaushed flat or bent down at a 15deg. angle,LOL. Now rice burners I have NO sympathy for, however. I've blown the doors off of plenty Hondas and Toys. I love the look on their faces when a 5000+
pound truck puts them to shame. One unsuspecting Prelude driver even got rubber in second, and still lost, hehehe.
I will always give in to a challenge of acceleration,,,it's just who I am

wildchild & Cowlady-I think this would have been a WORTHY one as he was all polished up and out looking to show off. I'll go for it next time I see him/her.
wemjr & andthensometoo-These 4.6's seem to be pretty strong. I should give the ol' girl a chance to prove it.
bigone-you must have big ones to be bragging about that here.
