thanks again guys esp you blueflareside it brings back old memories ( by the way it was two different right triangles) and the square footage was 238 sq ft. and 466 sq ft.
you prob right about the chevy owners Jean Marc.

the triangle does not need to be a right triangle for the equation of .5*b*h to work. as long as the height is measured to be the perpindicular distance from the base to the point of intersection of the two remaining sides.
