Post Is it just me or.....

have you also noticed that an unusually large number of the new model chevy/gmc trucks have their right side DRL burned out. In my area, about 70%-80% that I pass on the road have this problem. I wonder if it is an electrical problem much like the tail-light problem in the 88-90 models. G.M. trucks have crappy electrical systems anyway...at least all the one's that we've owned have. Has anyone else noticed this in their part of the country?

To mod or not to mod....that is the question!

I was just saying the same thing to my wife the other day. Most of the GM/GMC trucks in northeast Iowa have the same problem.

My buddy's dad's 2000 SVC sporstruck LT Topline) had the bulb burn out 3 wks after he bought. Everyone else that is confused enought to buy a GM/Chevy seems to be having a similar problem. I have seen a lot with the light out. Trucks resemble their owners, Chevman's lights aren't all on

My brother just bought a 2001 LT. And the strange thing is, it has DRL and night-time autolamps. In the daytime the lights come on in the lower foglamp assembly, and at night the headlamps come on automatically. I think that's a pretty dumb setup.

Yep. I've seen quite a few.

Also, on any make, the high mount brake lights are often out 1/4 of the time.

Cool

That's funny, I was just talking to a friend of mine today at lunch about this same thing.
At least half of the ones I see have one out.

I just saw two today with the left DRL out also. I thought it might just be happening in my area because it stays very humid down here and that tends to play havoc with cheap electrical systems. I guess it is happening everywhere. Looks like G.M. really does have a problem on their hands. What do you expect though! I almost traded my baby in on a G.M.C. Z-71 after my leaky head gasket encounter. Glad I snapped back into reality! Id rather drive a leaky Ford than a short circuiting chevy!!
