I would drive it! A friend of mine bought one out of that same run and it is a fun car to drive.

People like me do not get these cars, especially one of the first made !!! I watched the unvailing of the car at the Chicago auto show and they said if you had one of the original 70's Challengers that it was worth about $300,000.00 TODAY, and that this new version could be worth $3,000,000.00 in 30 years. What a legacy to leave your children. It is going to be tough to do, but if someone offers the right amount, it's gone....

Just hope that Dodge stays around for it, and that if they go, it doesn't hurt the value of the car any.

Sweet score on the Challenger though!

I always wanted an Old School car with new technology. This car caught my eye when i was a kid. I remember when a friend of mine stole his sisters and we went on a joy ride. We never got caught, but that was one thing i remember from my childhood. When i saw the concept car at the Detroit auto show, i fell in love with it. Don't get me wrong, the Mustang is the sheeet, but this car has been a favorite for me.

I still can't believe this is real. I get up in the morning and walk into the garage to see if it is really there.....

I am pretty sure I would wrap a blanket around it and kick my wife outta bed so I could put the car there instead

Congratulations!

I'm a Mustang guy to the core, but I do love the looks of the Challenger.

What a waste of a cool car!

I know it is sorta rare but why own it if it can't be driven on sunny summer days? I know a guy with a 78 Firebird with only 35,000 km's (21,000 miles roughly) on it but he still drives it. What's a 1000 miles a year in the summer? At least you can enjoy it. You might as well buy a painting if your looking to invest your money.

Jay Leno has some of the rarest cars around and he still drives them. To each his own I guess.

I'm sure he started to laugh when you started asking questions about it.

Awesome deal man. To have a number that low will score you at least some money in the future.

I wouldn't bet on that. A 1990 Corvette ZR-1 with only 2,500 miles sold at Barrett-Jackson this year for $66,000. The original window sticker on the car was over $60k, and they regularly sold for more than that. So a much more rare car that had been driven only 2,500 miles in 20 years didn't bring much more than the original cost.

If it isn't from the 60's or 70's, it isn't gonna be a collectible.

Maybe the OP enjoys looking at this more than a painting? Maybe he feels the rate of return on this investment will be greater than a painting?

BTW, is that '78 Firebird one of the first 10 made? Even if it is, it will never be as collectible as the OP's #6 Challenger. Apples and oranges.

Jay Leno is so wealthy, it matters nothing to him if one of his cars goes down in value.

The car was purchased as an investment. It is smart for the OP to do whatever it takes to maximize the investment. Some future rich person will pay handsomely for that car some day.

If the OP wanted a Challenger to drive today, he would have paid much less and got a used one.

They really only made 6,500 new Challengers? I have seen about six on the street and a bunch on the lots in my town.
