Bank escalation process
Bank escalation process
Do any of you know where we would go in order to escalate an issue we are having with Associated Bank? We signed paperwork for a home equity loan @ 4% but they are charging us 5%. We have made several attempts to get this resolved with the bank manager, but she is now not returning our calls. Is there a state or federal agency that deals with these types of issues, and if so, which agency?
One of my friends went through a bunch of trouble with a lender trying to get them to fix a serious error the bank made.
He worked extensively with the bank management and with various state and federal agencies and got nowhere.
Until he called the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and got them involved. This is a federal agency that is part of the Treasury. Once they got involved, the bank all of a sudden got VERY responsive.

Start cc: 'ing them on any correspondence you have with your lender.

Thanks, your answer is much appreciated, and answered two questions.
I just talked to a father of six who is in the cleaning business and lost some large accounts due to the recession, and does not have the cash to pay all of his mortgage. I found a link on that site to makinghomeaffordable.gov which I will tell him about so he can see if he is eligible for refinancing or modification.
