Post You know you've got a cool truck when...

these aren't jokes, just thinks I've noticed with my various vehicles. I'm sure others will add some. I thought of this today when I went to get my tires rotated and balanced. Guy goes out to bring the truck in (and some would get pissed by this, I got a kick out of it) and after hearing the exhaust, floored it just to hear it louder. He pulls into the bay and revs it up some more so everyone can hear it, and the guys in all 6 bays stop what theyre working on and come over to check it out. They start examining the light and listening to the exhaust. I'm just grinnin . This happens not only with my truck but also with my Explorer, I love teh attention!
I remember one time pulling it in for an oil change at the ford dealership (got a coupon for a free one) and spoke with the guys doing hte oil change for about an hour or two while the line gets longer and everyones getting pissed off. But I'm havin a good ol time and even the manager comes over and we're talking about suspension and PIAA lights and this and that. Finally one of the customers in line starts yelling so the manager says we better start running some other cars through (this dealership had one lift for oil changes).
Jus ta few thoughts I had .

Cool

I have a girlfriend (unfortunately just a friend that is a girl, not a girlfriend) that is drop dead gorgeous, Im talkin super model quality here,
heads turn whenever she walks into a room type thing. Anyway, happened three times in the last couple weeks we were in the truck, had guys come up in parking lots, drive up windows, etc. raving over the truck and not even giving her the time of day. I loved it, pissed her off a bit but was still funny.. Now all I gotta say is "nice truck" and she starts pouting.. thats when ya know you have a cool truck.

Cool

You drive by the local high school and all the boys literally stop talking, turn and look and do drop jaw.

Finally, they give a thumbs up and instead of looking at any of the girls (who also are looking, but don't really get it) they look and stare at you as you pull away.

(Has happened every time I'm in the high school area.)

LOL one50npump, I thought I was the only one . I used to date a girl that was quite attractive, not supermodel hot or anything, but she was quite attractive and used to be approached wherever she went, etc. She also got quite irritated when we'd be hangin out having a tailgate party or something and guys (and some girls) would stop by ands ay "wow this is a great truck" and ask all kinds of questions about it and this and that, then kind of say "ohh... hello" to her and walk off. She says people love this truck more then they love me. I just kinda shrug, not say anything. LOL. Glad to hear I'm not the only one .

Speaking of high school, I actually had my 98 F-150 for about a month in high school. I loved hte reaction I got, especially since I went to a pretty preppy high school where some kids drove vette's, porsche's and so forth that there folks had bought them. WEll one day I decided to take lunch outside so I sat outside near the parking lot, this was the day I had parked next to a nearly brand new vette. Everyone walking past it was like "wow cool truck!" then they'd completely ignore the vette, talk about a good feeling . Then I'd let it slip in class sometimes that my blue truck this or my blue truck that, and almost everyone would say "oh thats your truck! That truck is awesome!" ANother good feeling. Wish I'd had it for longer in high school, hell I probably would've been more popular, LOL. By the way, I bought my 98 F-150 custom made when I was 17 year old... I think I had the best vehicle in the parking lot of anyone that had bought there own vehicle , hell even better then those crummy vettes .

I oughtta take my truck back to the tire place just so I can rev it up in the 6-bay garage... it sounded incredibly cool .

LOL oh I just thought of another story that happened a few weeks ago. T here's a high school near where I work and I frequent restaurants where they sometimes hang out. Well anyways I had got my food and I was going back to work to eat it, stopped at a stoplight and this kid in a little fiero lookin car next to me starts revvin his engine. He's got his girlfriend in the car and obviously thinks he's fast. So I rev my engine back plenty loud. Funny look on his face like "I didn't expect it to be that loud!" the light turned green and I smoked his ***, he didn't even have a chance to catch up. I looked in the mirror and saw his girlfriend hittin him in the arm like "you idiot! you got beat by a pickup truck!" LOL

You know you have a cool truck when your friend sells his Chevy and says he'll just borrow your Ford.

well i thought of something else also. this is by far the funniest thing that has happen to me.
THe other night Me and a bunch of friends were going to IHOP after work at midnight. and this guy in a red 150 came up behind me i was trying to line up so he could see my f150world.com and f150online stickers. then he got over in the lane to my right and he flored it. I noticed that he had the billet grill and a cowl hood with nostrils ram air hood. he got next to me at the light and rolled down his window, and wanted to know were the Hell i got my light logo. he jumped out of the truck and i gave him one of my TEXAS CHAPTER cards. THe funniest part was all my friends were about to jump outta there cars and box the guys truck in with there truck and help me fight the guy cause they didnt know what was up. Like i said earlier I LOVE THIS TRUCK

I have been pulled over by cops 4 times
when they get to the window they say "I just wanted to get a better look at your truck, this thing is awesome"

I am routinely 15-20 minutes late if i have to stop somewhere on the way
because people want to talk about my truck

I can park in the farthest parking lot where nobody is on a day where the lot is empty and when i come back out there are at least 3 cars parked around me

My teacher let the whole class go out and look at my truck the first day i got it back because everyone was begging to look at it

everyone in town wants to race me because i look fast

i park at a lot on the weekends with friends and i get at least 3 or 4 cars stopping to ask me questions

also out on the weekends i routinely get car loads of girls coming up begging to ride in my truck

my principal stops me in the hall asking what i have done to my truck since the last time he stopped me

the school officer lets me get away with anything because he likes my truck

when parked waiting for food at a driveup people will go around and talk to me

a viper in my neighborhood keeps reving his motor at me everytime i catch him at a stop sign or light

my nickname is now "navi"

probally 40%-50% of a 100,000 people town know me now

people go to our local Lincoln dealership asking to order the new Lincoln Truck, then the sales people have to explain that the one they saw in town is not made by Lincoln and is just a custom truck

i have caused 2 wrecks where they were looking at my truck and rear ended some one else (both took off to early at a stop light cus they though i was taking off)

i have been offered a sponsorship

i always get the double take (look once as i drive by, then almost break there necks looking back again once they realize)

there are no lightnings in my town
i saw one the other day (louisianna plates) where he was trying to race a a camaro
a while later i caught him at a light
i never race in town but figured this would be the only chance i ever had to run a L
i motioned to race, and he backed off!!!

parked at Sonic a older guy in a viper came up with a checkbook saying he had to have one of these and asking all about it
(when i told him it had 32,000 miles on it he kinda backed off, but then asked how much it would cost to remake one)

I LOVE MY TRUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
