Question Negotiating Ford ESP plans?

It's been mentioned before that you can negotiate on the price of Fords Extended warranty plans at the dealer when your buying the vehicle. But can you also negotiate on the price of an extended plan long after you have purchased the vehicle?? I recieved a letter from Ford with plans and prices available if I act before June 21st...blah, blah, blah. But the plan(s) I might be interested seem a bit pricey!! Has anyone ever bought a service plan like this, long after the original sale, and paid a better price than originally quoted?

Question

???? Has anyone here purchased an Extended Service Plan after they have had their vehicle a while??? And if so, did you get a better deal?? Just curious!

Hi....this is a first time that I heard of Ford sending out info and asking if you would be interested in purchasing an ESP, after you purchased the vehicle. I do know that you can go back to the "purchasing" dealer before your base warranty runs out. The best time is around either 34K miles or 34 months. But also be aware that they can also make go through a used car inspection at YOUR cost. It runs about 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours check-out time. They really try to get you buy it at the time of vehicle purchase because the saleperson gets a "spiff check" out of the deal. Thats why it kind of surprises me that they sent you the letter. There are sites online that you can purchase aftermarket warranties that may be in your price range, but they can make you pay for the repair in FULL and send in a receipt for reimbursement.
