F150 Recommendations?

My .02 - Definately a Supercrew. You will regret not having one if you ever take the family out for a spin. I had an extended cab for a little while with 2 kids (both had car seats) and there is no room back there.
Also, I would be more inclined to look at 02 or 03. Even though the milage will be higher, these were the last couple of years of the old body style before the new 04's came out, so most of the kinks were worked out by then. Maintenance is easy and as long as you keep up on it, you can get 250K miles out of it before an engine or tranny rebuild.
If you tow, you will want a 3.73 gear ratio and probably a 5.4L... 4 wheel drive is up to you. Also, should you ever get the itch, an 02 or 03 will be easier to mod (CAI, lift, etc...) than the 04's IMO. Less issues. The only downfall with these Supercrews though is that that were only made in a 5 foot bed, no 6 foot until 05 I believe, maybe 06 was the first year in a SUpercrew 6 foot bed. Although, 2 moves and a bunch of landscaping work, I've never needed a 6 foot bed. Nice to have but not an absolute necessity IMO, at least not for an average guy like me.
Definately leather, especially with kids. It really depends on how much you're looking to spend. But I can say with 100% confidence, that another f150 is the right choice as opposed to any other truck. And they brain power behind some of these members being able to offer help and suggestions is second to none. Just an added bonus for being an f150 driver. The '02-'03 idea doesn't sound bad. I may have to check one out. I really like the one I test drove years ago...I think it was an '02 (couldn't afford it, too much upside down on my '98 at the time).
