Thats the idea guys, she wants your email address. She probably sells them to a company for direct marketing. There was someone busted not long ago doing the same thing with a message board like this. People started getting spammed and all kinds of cheesy **** sent to their email. Unfortunately you can't block the email address, because they always use a different one.

If she's so into this chat thing, why can't she let us know what she wants to chat about first?

 

Geez yall, it was a car chat - auto enthusiasts, I've held three of them in the AIM program already Zorprime was there, Lariat (I forgot the rest of his name) was there, also some other members from svtperformance.com, ls1.com, gmforums.com, and many others.

Sorry to rag on you so hard! I have just seen a few friends swept into these cheesy "chats" that end up screwing them. It just seemed a little odd to me that you were a new member and wanted to chat on a different site. Some of the people on this board are probably quite skeptical of just "giving" out their email addresses, just as I am.

I joined the chat. It was a bunch of people chatting about the same thing we do in the chat. From cars to anything else. didnt have a problem and havent gotten spam. But then again i dont have AOL. just the IM.

 

I use AOL and am unable to to do the chat thing, the browser is not Java capable.

I have to say I didn't know there was a chat here. More than likely it wouldn't work since I'm behind a firewall here where I'm employed. That was why I was using AIM. The funny thing is, the chat doesn't work with anything BUT AIM. The only reason I had made a post previously about the chat and asked for e-mails, was because I was using http://invites.yahoo.com to make an "invitation" for a car chat, kind of like a formal thing, that's all I'm sorry for making that sound like a "spam" thing, I had no intentions of that at all. We have the chat going right now actually. If you don't want to IM me, Lariat4wd is in right now, but not for long. Also, you can bring up your buddy list, go to the people menu, click on send buddy invitation (something like that), and type in your own name, and the name of the room, which is Car Chat Hope to see you there

 

I'll bring the Captain Morgan and Coke!!!!
