I got a bike myself. 2000 Suzuki Katana. And there are a ton of bike sites out there. A few of them sell ramps. Also try JCWhitney I think they sell them also.

OK, I've gotta ask the dumb question... you obviously got it in there somehow... how'd you get it in the bed (or better yet, how'd you get it out?) without already owning a set of ramps?

Also, JC Whitney, or Performance Products, or Northern Industrial Tool, or probably Home Depot, HQ, Sears, K-Mart, Wal-Mart, etc, etc all carry those nice end-of-the-board ramp adapters for a 2x6 that will stop it from slipping off the tailgate.

Otterbob - check out www.stylinconcepts.com - they sell the end pieces to make your own ramps for $35 or $45. I saw them & wanted to get them but I don't have anything to load into the truck that warrants getting ramps! LOL! Good luck!

Cool

Otterbob -
I have got a set of Floe International ramps that I bought to get my fourwheeler in the beck of my truck as well. They are made from Aluminum, and obviously weigh nothing at compared to the fourwheeler. I think that I paid $100 for them, and have seen them other places around here for the same price....(Minnesota that is)
I was going to go with the wood planks like all of the others have suggested, but I was afraid that over time they are going to get very stressed, and will crack and break the one time that I am up on them, causing not only damage to myself, but the truck and the fourwheeler.....That wouldn't be good.
The ones that I have, have a nice safety chain attached to them, that you wrap around the tailgate cables to make sure that they don't slip when you are getting up into the truck bed....That was a nice safety feature in my mind.....Just my two cents.

I occasionally have to cut a ballfield and need to transport my riding mower. I got the ramp ends used with the 2x12's. I just got the part that goes on the tailgate and saved a little rather than buying both ends.
The problem I see with them is if you leave the boards 8 feet as I did, they bow under the weight. If you cut them to stout them up, the incline gets too steep. It's no picnic for me even at the 8 foot length. Then there is is problem of them sticking out of the bed. Even if you have a longbed, with the extenders on the board they hang out.

If it's something you're going to be doing often, do it right and get real ramps, not the hayseed, cheapskate, numbskull wood ramps I got.

I would go with the folding aluminum ones also. Actually, it is what I did for my Suzuki F250LT 4x4. They are lightweight, shouldn't have any durability issues, and the safey aspect of having an attachment on either side to your tailgate cable is nice. In fact, mine fit perfectly underneath the ATV when they are folded. One word of caution though - they DO come in different lengths and weight handling capacities. If possible, go to a local dealer and try out different ones on your tailgate to ensure that you aren't creating too steep a slope to drive it up on. I DIDN'T do that (mainly because I had a different vehicle at the time), and the angle on mine (on level ground) is somewhere approaching 45 degrees! Needless to say, I like to find somewhere to load it up where the truck is parked downhill from the end of the ramp so I decrease my slope.

well raoul, i went against your advice and went with the hayseed, cheapskate, numbskull wood ramps like you told me not too. lol. no actually they seem to work ok for the wheeler. the four wheeler weighs 398lbs so they work pretty well. i bought the bolt on pieces and put em on 8' 2x8's the truck is a 6 1/2ft box so the do stick out some. i wouldnt dare go any shorter though. i will have to look into a way to securely hold them for long transports. thanks for all the responses and oh final cost was 49.90 after tax.
