Death at the F1......
Well at the last minute Speedvision got the F1 coverage.
As pointed out in another post, those with the fame and money are mourned by many, and others never acknowledged.
During the opening race of the F1 in the land of OZ, a corner worker, who works for very little money and to protect the drivers, was killed when hit by flying debris after an accident sent Jacque Villenue's car flying into the wall.
On the podium, they sprayed no champagne. During the post race interviews, all three drivers were very brief and commented on the loss.
They never mentioned the mans name. I hope that in a sport where many drivers make such huge money, they will help the family left behind.
There was another corner worker killed last year in a similar F1 incident. I sure hope this doesn't continue.

Things like that makes me very angry. I know a lot of rich people that are missing the human touch. I don't get along with them, and I am sure they wouldn't get along with me either. But don't get me wrong, there is very nice rich people around, but not too many.
Deaths at the season openers for both Cup and F1 is sombering...racing is a dangerous venture. Always has been, always will be. In spite of the tragic losses, I will always be a huge motorsports racing fan. It doesn't matter if its the Paris-Dakar, Cup racing, boat racing, SuperCross, or whatever...I really support racing. But, indeed, let's hope the marshall's family is helped through their time of grief.

And let's not forget the Canadian corner workers killed recently in CART (Indy) racing. There was one in Toronto a couple of years ago when US driver Jeff Krosnos (sp.?) was killed after flipping into the fencing, just like Villeneuve did. And one in Vancouver probably five years or so ago, when US driver ***** T. Ribbs booted it being push-started after he spun, running over the poor bastard with his rear wheel.
It's a hazardous thing they do, but they love it and the sport couldn't function without these highly trained volunteers.
