This virus is real...!
!!!!! >WARNING< !!!!!
My friends, there is a dangerous virus floating around on this site. Once you are infected, it is very difficult to get it out of your system. This virus can cause pain in your family as you try desperately to satisfy it by giving in to the urges it creates. It has even been known to put you into isolation from family and loved ones.
I am referring to the notorious "Upgrade Virus".
Symptoms:
-Uncontrollable envy when you see a truck with any accessory you do not have.
-Severe rationalization of the "benefits" you will get (usually including better gas mileage, increased safety, etc.) through an upgrade to justify the cost to your spouse.
-Puring over websites like this in an effort to design your perfect truck.
-Dragging your spouse out into the driveway (usually in the dark) to point out the incredible new upgrade you have just done, usually includes pointing it out several times until they see how much better it looks.
-Justifying the cost of an add-on by giving up another monthly expense in exchange, "Honest honey, by only drinking 1 latte' a day, I will have paid for the cost of that supercharger in no time..."
If you have fallen prey to this virus, please seek help. And most importantly, post pictures of your disease affected vehicle for the rest of us who are suffering to see...
Good luck,

My upgrade virus usually involves symptoms of just having to have the latest and greatest model of a given vehicle.
Mercedes-Benz is the master of spreading the "model upgrade" virus. They do it like this:
Year 1: Introduce New Model
Year 2: Add engine options (usually more available horsepower
Year 3: Make certain former "options" standard on newer models
Year 4: Add new technology standard (like Nav systems, On-star type things, etc)
Keeps the model fresh, keeps the upgrade fever going until another new model comes out.

OMG...is there any hope of recovery? What is the cure (besides the obvious complaining S.O.)?
I guess I need to watch what kind of gas and oil I'm pouring into my vehicle...
