I was driving in the left lane behind a PT cruiser in the right. 3 Mexicans teens were walking down the side of the road. They had a short length of cable and a rock. They smacked the cruiser with the cable leaving a big dent (It was support cable for power poles so what is that 3/4-1" diameter). The rock they threw bounced off and hit my truck. I have worked for everything I have. I dont feel guilty. What POd me the most was that the cruiser was carrying a soldier just home from IRAQ. He was with his fiance and parents coming from the airport.
I guess you could consider it a compliment. Someone so envious of what you have, they tear you down to try and bring themselves up.

but yeah, i get the occasional compliment and its nice.

Couple months back, I had a guy compliment my truck; we were both in a parking lot and it became very awkward. He was in a little green Geo Metro POS and all I could muster up was a thank you and switch the conversation to how good of gas mileage he must get in his car.

If I don't get at least a comment a day something is wrong. I've had people come up to me when I'm out in the middle of no where on a gravel road watching storms roll by and stop to talk about my truck. Shoot last time I went out to eat after church it took me about 30 minutes to just get inside the resturant since everyone was coming over the look at the truck. It was filthy too but people still wanted to look at it. Every single time I fill up it becomes a interesting situation. All good though I love talking to new people.
I get compliments about my truck from time to time, usually people asking about the lift or HIDs. Just about anyone who rides in it asks about the sound system.
The best was when I was outside working in the engine bay one day. I had the engine idling because I was checking on something, and some guy walks up to me and asked if I had a diesel swap. I said "no, thats just my cam phasors ticking like mad." They really are that loud, its ridiculous.
