why must there be hunting shows on tv? i have no prob with hunting for survival and food so dont think im a peta guy or some thing. lol. but why must they hunt for entertainment. right now it is quest for the one or some **** where there in africa hunting hippos. i think it should stop at fishing shows because you catch a fish and throw him back and he will live to be caught another day. u shoot and kill any thing its not gonna live to get bigger and most likely they arent keeping it to eat. ok im gonna end my rant now.

 

I am quite sure that the meat is eaten and the hides used. The shows help teach tecniques for safe hunting, and shooting for the fastest kill. I am going elk hunting this year for the first time. The shows are very valuble to me. If you don't like it, don't watch. Plus, it has the affect of making PETA and other animal rights group freaks very angry. That is enough right there. I was watching one show this morning laughing my butt off.... it was a spoof and they were bow hunting chickens. Funny stuff!

 

I sort of agree. I don't care for them killing 10 deer per show. Seems so fake the guy kills a couple hundred deer and he still gets all excited. pfff! Most everyone I know who hunts uses the meat for food and only get's what they can use. I for one refuse to gun hunt. To me that's a unfair advantage. I taught myself how to bow hunt using my dad's old bow. As I got older I bought my own compound bow and later on a rifle for hunting. Too many people gun hunt and it's not really fair to the deer to shoot it a from a half mile away so I sold my rifle and kept bow hunting. Sadly I lost my bows in a fire so now I have to save up again for another bow. What's worse is when people use dogs and bait to hunt deer or poach. That really gets under my skin.

 

the worst part of hunting and fishing shows is the credits. they have writers, which IMO is pointless if your hunting or fishing i sure as hell hope you no what your talking about and dont have to read a script...
