Congrats! Just wait till you drive an 04-08 or a 2009+ model!

You'll find tons of useful information on this site. Odds are, if you have a question, someone else has already asked it, so make liberal use of the "search" button near the top of your screen.

Enjoy your new truck and welcome to the site!

That's what I thought, and online that's what I read.

This has a date of 09/2002 on the door. The Heritage Edition from what I read with the special two-tone paint etc was to commemorate 100 yrs of Ford 1903-2003; so one would think it should be the 2003-as this one is.

If anyone could shed some light on the topic-I'd really like to know why everything shows the Heritage Edition for 2004, but you can find a select few in 2003.

Thanks.

I might; heck I just can believe the comments I've gotten on her in just 48 hours. I live in a rural community, otherwise truck country where just about everyone has a truck.

Many many many Fords represented... But I must say, mine is the only one I've seen with this Heritage Edition Two Tone Paint Job.

I'm not knocken' anyone's truck _ I'm just biased towards mine

Just got this answer from another member at another F150 forum...

"I actually still have a 2003 F-150 book from the dealership and the truck you purchased was a special truck they offered in 2003. The name was used to celebrate 100 years of F-series trucks. Too bad they decided the following year to just go ahead and use the name again for the leftovers!" -- Darth Bama

So by definition, the 2003 is the true representation of the "Heritage Edition" commemorating 100 years 1903-2003 as it is stated on the badge.

Just another reason to love my truck...

I was always lead to believe that a 04 Heritage was the late 03 manufactured body style right before the line was retooled for the 04 model year in late 03. Or something like that.

Otherwise nice paint scheme and welcome to the site!

As alraedy stated, there are 2 Heritage models. The Heritage Edition that was a special edition in 2003 that commemorated 100 years of Ford trucks and the 2004 Heritage that used the tag to use up left over parts until the new body style came out. My question is, was the 2004 called the Heritage or was it also called the Heriatge Edition?

Ok yeah that stands to reason my daughters Mustang is 35th anniversary heritage edition as well as I've seen an 04 heritage edition. However still a nice looking truck with one of the more unique color scheme's that I've never seen Welcome to the site. Start checking out the basic mods like the Gotts intake programmers headers etc. not in that particular order. But there are alot of cool stuf not to mention alot of cool guys and gals here. Welcome

You are absolutely right and they (the 2004) were the Heritage Version, leftover plain 2003 models. However, the true "Heritage Edition" was a special order 100th Anniversary XLT Trim for the 2003 Model Year with the 100th year badge 1903-2003 and the special two Tone Paint Scheme. I even heard it was a $2000.00 retail option and only 15,000 produced. Mine was manufactured 09/2002.

I'm still learning and investigating on my new truck.

Bluejay and all Ford F150 enthusiasts further investigation shows the 2003 had a "Heritage Edition" special order package commemorating 100 Years of Ford.

The 2004s otherwise known as the 2003 Carryovers and mainly the 6cyl and XLs are known as only F150 Heritage, not to be mistaken with or called a F150 Heritage Edition

Although it is?

Regardless, yours is a commemorative edition. I do believe the 04s were also called "Heritage Edition" as well, probably because they had badges left over from the 03 run and didn't want to make a whole new run of badges.
Anyway, that's a sharp looking truck! Congrats and welcome!

The only badging my '04 Heritage has is a small 'Heritage" on the tailgate underneath the F-150 badge.

Mine was built 06/04 which is funny as my friends' new style was built 11/03...mine's actually newer/older..

I like the paint scheme on the other Heritages though...and I really like that truck you have...great colour.
