Having family and a lot of other types of contacts in the NASCAR community, this loss hit us like a ton of bricks. We were not able to sleep last night, and tears are in far too plentiful supply.

I didn't even want to come on here today, but finally did, hoping it would make me feel better, which it has; thank you, F-150 Online.

Our love to Dale & all,

It's ironic that a "tap" ( with S.Marlin either accidental or on purpose) is what lead to the accident and his death. He so often did the same on purpose to just about anybody in front of him and would have said "that's racin'". Though not a fan of his per se, I would never wish him harm but feel that injury, death or a mandate (age, reflexes, skill, etc.) is the only way he would quit racing. I will miss his competitve spirit and the way he made NASCAR exciting.

A little odd....my previous "We're Bombing Iraq" thread got 18 replies....this one got 25 so far. Shows where American priorities are.

Although not a 3 car fan, I'm a fan of Nascar and I respected him as a racer. I was even glad he won the '98 Daytona 500, because he deserved it. He will be missed.

Yes,weird.

I am not an expert in this but that crash didn,t look too bad.
The #20 crash was a lot worse and he survived.
