I live on 4 acres in the boonies as well, it just so happens to be in a private community. I shoot in my backyard, neighbors hunt in the woods surrounding our homes, and we pretty much do as wel please out here. There are restrictions though that keep people from junking up their houses and lots. My wife and I bought in our neighborhood because of this.

When we were looking for houses we found one we really liked, but from the backyard you could see piles of trash, junk, broke down cars, and a few broken down buses in one of the neighbors yards. We chose not to buy that house becuase of that. If there are no rules or restrictions against such things in a neighborhood I don't blame the folks that do it, but it will keep potential buyers away and possibly drop the property values of surrounding properties.

Hell that would have been the reason I would move in. Imagine all the cool crap that guy has back there.

remember some counties may have regulations on things like cars too. according to what i found online, Benton County here claims anything more than 8 vehicles per property makes it an illegal junkyard

I can see both sides to this story.

I suppose I can see they other guy's point of view. But unless you guys are rude to him or have otherwise had other altercations, he should of just complained to you first before calling the cops. But I"m guessing he is tired of seeing the 4 project cars everyday and figured this was his chance to get the cops involved.

I had a neighbor who always had a dog that would bark all night. When he first moved in I would wave to him and he would just look away. (pissed me off)

So I figured if he wasn't decent enough to wave back a confrontation at 11pm about a loud *** dog would be a bad idea, so I also called the cops.

Signed a complaint form too so he could get a ticket.

If the idiot would have just been decent I would have just waited till the next day and talked to him about it and given him the chance to shut up his dog.

I would have said you do it again and you will be laing with those parts. Thats just me though.
something like that happened to us once. we were on the way back from the hospital and we went up a coldesac (how ever you spell it) and it was 2 trucks and one of us peeled out it was around 11pm and we pull up at my house, it was about 10 of us and some idiot flies up in his truck throws it in park going like 10 mph jumps out leaves his door open and starts cussing us out. me being the smart *** i am, ask the guy to politely not cuss in front of his 4 or 5 year old daughter. then we denied it was us and i told him to get the **** off my property. after that and put **** on his car a couple times

my neighbor has a 6 pound dog like that, barks alot now. usually they keep it inside but lately they have been giving it more freedom i guess. so im thinking about getting a noisy duck and keeping it outside were friends with them, i just dont wanna listen to a fur ball and a duck would be funny and very annoying to listen to

I bought my house and I'll do what I love, when I want (within reason).

I have 7 neighbors, I've helped all but 3 with stuff. The guy across the street had his shed (12x20) delivered in a rain storm. The truck got stuck and they came over to see if I could help. Well we winched the truck out of the way then winched the shed into the final resting spot.

Some people have nothing better to do, get used to it, there is one of these tools on every block. Be happy he does not live right next door, I am sure that guy has some horror stories.

My old boss's neighbour actually called the police on him one time because he was watering the lawn and the wind was blowing some water onto her property! She would also go nuts if anyone parked on the street in front of her house. She did not own a car.

Five, IH Scout IIs?
Those aren't so big.

I'm restoring a school bus in my driveway.
I have eight, ...no wait, nine donor buses in the yard.

I need that many because I keep finding gum under the seats.

There are always two sides to a story. I hate it when people cut across my front lawn. Are you that lazy that the few extra steps will kill you. Cutting across leads to a path and that kills the grass. If you want to play on the front lawn then that is OK. Random movement doesn't harm as much and the grass has time to recover.
The front of my truck is on jack stands as I am typing this waiting for a replacement clutch. I have no problem with fixing vehicles in the driveway. Hell when I see a hood popped I'm more likely to walk over and see why it's up and offer to help. If your heap is mission parts and looks ratty then I can respect that others may want it to be removed or moved out of sight. Calling the police is a coward's way. I would talk first and discuss the situation. But knowing the city/county by-laws will go a long way in knowing which way the police will lean.

thats how my neighborhood is. my 3 closest neighbors have all offered to help me work on my truck when i was out in my driveway.

of course it also helps that one has a 2002 f150 supercab 4x4 like me, one has an 04+ f150 (so does his son), and the other has a mercury mountaineer. there are also 3 other f150s on my street, which is about a 1/4 mile long. you can say we are Ford heavy.
