Asking help from my gun brethren.

My question: Buy another handgun, and what brand. Or, buy more ammo.

What is in my posession: 1 Glock 23 .40, 1 Kimber CDP II .45, S&W model 4006 .40, and a for sale Lady Smith revolver .38 to put me at $800 dollars to spend.

Ammo: 1500 rounds .40, and 600 of the .45.

The Kimber will be my concealed carry, the Glock gets carried in my truck, and the Smith .40 is in my bedroom.

I want to spend a grand on something. I can buy another Glock 23 or 35. The 23 holds less than the 23, but I have a 23, and would like to buy two more for a grand. I would get at least 8 more clips also, then I would have three Glock 23's. It would be nice to have backups and parts. I could aslo just get one 23, and then get some ammo also.

Or, I could get a Kimber 1911 CDP .45, and all my cash would be spent...

What would yall do? Please don't tel me to buy more .308 and 75 grain .223 or invest in more AR's. That is already done. I really need more handgun ammo, and/or another handgungun, or both. What should I do. Help me annoy the libs with my decision, and please give the pros and cons of what you suggest.

Oh yeah, should I get a HK handgun instead? Please keep in mind what I already have in stock.

Okay, that is a start...but why? I need to be convinced that I am making the best use of my money. Is it because you think I have enough handguns? WHat do you think about getting another Glock and some ammo? That is kinda how I am leaning, as I would be getting the best of both worlds.

because ammo is getting hard to find. and with all these regulations the are proposing, know one knows how much longer you will be able to by ammo like you can now

ammo is fun. do you make ur own? thatd prob be a good thing to look into instead of 1.00 buck a road its now like 25 cents a round.

but if i was you id get another kimber beatuful guns and a very good name... over priced but very good gun. what about a 357 or a 44 mag? be a nice addtion to ur revolver collection. if i had the money id buy a S&W 500 but thats just me. i like making really big holes..hehe

how bout a colt peace maker some good guns there too. or a 1911 are those options for you to or just what you posted.

if its just what you posted kimber all day long...you can always save for ammo

MMMMbuckles makes a semi good point. Ammo is not difficult to find, as I have been able to get it at reasonable prices. His good point, a handgun is as good a rock...if you have no ammo. The Kimber is the best weapon, especially for conceal and carry. I have ound it to be the most accurate. Get a gun dirty, and I want the Glock. It has lower tolerances, and and would work best when dirty. I think I am leaning towards another Glock 23, and 500 bucks of ammo.

I do not want to venture outside of .40 and .45. To many sizes to F with. I feel it is smarter to stick with what I have, and increase their volume. Thoughts?

I have a few guns myself; Beretta 92FS for the truck and since it's my alternate weapon for the military which stays in the house under the couch, Glock 17 for the truck/wife and a Remington 870 shotgun that goes under the bed. This being the case I personally think you have too many guns, I know, I know, blasphemy right. I don't even know what to do with the 3 and if I didn't use the shotgun and Beretta on a regular basis for fun and practice for work I wouldn't know what to do with those. I say get a Mossberg short barrel shotgun for home protection, max damage at short distance and would even have to stick your head out the door. How many times have you ever had to use a gun for what it's meant for? I'm in Afghanistan and I have my Beretta and M4 but still haven't fired a round because its mostly IED's here or suicide bombers. Sure it sucks but you've got all those guns for what? The shooting range? I say buy ammo since it doesn't sound like you NEED another gun or here's a crazy idea, sell a couple you already have and get even more money! I know people like to collect weapons but all they really do is collect dust, I say you keep any weapons that were hard to get or unique and look for a better way to spend the dough, especially in this economy you could be in debt before you know it if you aren't already.

You already have some great handguns, buy more ammo and become better with your gun. Might even want to take some classes...

Tell you what I am going to buy next. Advantage Arms 22 conversion for my Glock.

I want to practice like a **** and get my trigger down right then I can switch back to the 40 and be WAY more proficient and hit a nats ball from 40 ft.

I shot one yesterday and it was awesome. The guy that had it had not cleaned it in a while but that is one thing that you have to do regularly with it but overall it was great. 15 bucks for 1k worth of ammo is nice as well.

Stock up on Ammo...i could barely find any 40 to shot yesterday.

Very good points. This is what I was looking for. As of now, I am leaning towards another Glock 23 and ammo. Here in a few minutes, I am gonna go and purchase some more ammo. Thank you for the advice.

I should, and do plan on taking a conceal and carry class next month. Thank you for your input. I am headed to buy ammo.

Also, your quote should read:

"Fear the man who has three of the same weapon, because he probably knows how to use them."

Five years ahead of the suggestion... 870 pistol grip with no stock. I used it as a vehicle weapon until Sept 2007 when they finally made handgun carry in a vehicle legal here in Texas.

Considering your list, I'd be buying a Kimber 22LR conversion for your Kimber frame. It would make it a lot more fun to shoot and ammo is cheap by comparison. That would leave a lot of money for ammo. But, you can never have too many 1911s. Might consider a Rock Island for plinking type 45ACP. I've shot several and while they are not an expensive pistol, they shoot like one.
