Post B&M ShiftPlus Electronic Shift Improver

I saw this listed in Summit Racings catalog. Has anyone tried it. Is it worth the $39.00 or is it just a gimmick? What about the long term effects on my tranny? Thanks!

I had one in my truck for over a year (got it from Summit). Shifts are firmed up, and that's what it's supposed to do. If you are thinking of getting a chip, don't bother getting the shift kit, because the chip firms up the shifts.

Do a search on the message boards here for a lot more opinions & information on it.

I have my B&M electronic shift kit just laying here (I took it out because I put in a Superchip). I would be willing to sell it. If you're interested, drop me a line - kelly@fordf150.net

Thumbs up

I recently put one in my truck and I'm happy with it... can't comment on long term effects though. It firmed up the shifts but what I like most about it is that the truck now holds the appropriate gear going up hills instead of constantly shifting back and forth.

I also frequently pull a light trailer and the kit helps a lot in that situation.

Here's a link to a page I created on how I did the install:

I'd say it's a good buy if you don't want to invest in a chip... and the premium fuel that goes along with it.
