Cool new guy here (and ? w/in)

Hello everyone! I just purchased a 99 F-150 on Monday and I love this truck! I moved up, my previous ride was a 97 Ranger with the mighty 2.3L My truck did not come with an owners manuel so I'm looking for an online VIN decoder and a page that has where I can find out what gear ratio I have. Thanks, this site rocks!

Look in your driver side door jam and it will tell you what gears you have, as for the VIn decoder, i cant help you there.

Just so happens the Webmaster has been working on a VIN decoder:

Bomber is right. Look at the plate in your driver's side door frame and tell us what you have under "Axle." An "H9" is the 3.55 Limited Slip rear end.

99Flairside welcome to the board. Well I am going to read your mind, and tell you that your truck has a 3.55 gear ratio.
Good luck with your new truck I know you will love it.

Yeah I know about that sticker, but I was wondering is there somewhere I could find out what the codes mean (or maybe someone here knows?). It says my axle is "19". Thanks.

Congratualtions on the new truck! Hope you have MANY happy miles with it!
I didn't have an owner's manual when I got mine but picked 1 up at Ebay for $9.99! In fact there are a ton of things there for our trucks. You can search either with F150 or F 150 - you'll get different items that way. It's a great place to pick up items NOT sold here in the Online Store. I am NOT trying to get in trouble here but I know how it can be when looking for something you need like the manual.
Again - good luck! Bye for now!
