Talking Viva Las Vegas

Woo hooo!!! I'm going to Lost Wages(ooops...I mean Las Vegas) next week and I was just curious what everyone's favorite games are. Do ya like slots or are table games more your speed?

Also which casinos are your favorites?
I like the Hard Rock casino 'cause I think they got the best looking waitresses(yeah, baby!!) and they play good music. It's not just a buncha slot machine noise.

Ah well, just wanted to throw this out there to you all and see what you thought....

Cool

Well speak of the devil. I just got back from Vegas yesterday. I usually play blackjack. Slots is almost a lost cause, because you gotta play atleast $1.00 slots to get a big win. Take it SLOW, because you can loose your money fast.
Usually, I stay at the MGM. Definitely, hit Studio 54 on Tuesday nights (ladies night!!). And the RA at the Luxor. Make sure you bring some nice dress clothes, they have a pretty strict dresscode. Good luck

Thumbs up

I too was in Vegas this past week. There were eight couples in our group, two of the guys play craps almost exclusively. The rest of us play card games, blackjack, some dice games and a little slots. I like to wager on the sports book and then wander back from the tables to check scores and take a break every so often. If I do play slots I get a drink and a machine on the end in a high traffic area and check out the ladies. My favorite casino is wherever I am winning at for that moment.

I think Bellagio and Mandalay Bay are the nicest hotel-casinos, MGM and NYNY are also good. The "O" show that is playing at Bellagio's was better than I expected. As perviously posted bring some nice rags and your clubs if you play and pace yourself. Per the locals, the next two weeks will be crowded due to the SB. Good luck and remember that town wasn't built on winners.

Ghz,
Did you attend the Safari Club International show? I saw the "O" show too. Pretty awesome show. It's basically a water acrobatic show with an opera theme too it. I also got to rent a Viper GTS for 5 hours from Dream Car Rentals. That was a blast.

Cool

First off, don't forget your golf clubs!

Second, leave the credit cards at home. It's worse than Temptation Island out there.

They say as long as you play smart (knowing when to hit, split, stay, etc.), blackjack is your best bet(!)

Bon chance!

Look up www.dreamcarrentals.com
It was $225 for 5 hours with 75 miles free. Anything over 75 miles is $1.00 per mile (ouch). I opted for the extra $50 insurance, so my insurance company was only liable for $2500.00. Trust me, that thing is a chick magnet. Everytime I was at the stoplight, women were smiling as they crossed the intersection.
They also have Porsches, Ferrari, Corvettes, etc.

Jupiterak: No, I did meet a rather interesting exhibitor from MN though. Are you a guide? I saw a place on the Strip that rented streetrods and Ferrari's, is that where you got the Viper?

Ghz,
Not a guide, just an avid hunter/gun collector that attended the show. The car rental place is right next to Boardwalk Hotel. Between New York and Bellagio hotel. They also have a second rental shop over by the Stratosphere.

Stayed at the Luxor for a few days between Christmas and New Years. At Luxor, the IMAX 3-D movie Cyberworld was great! Also, lots of fun in the arcade up there - get a bunch of friends and race the Indy Cars.

Mandalay Bay is also nice. There is just too much to see in Vegas on a short trip. Have fun!

my parents just got back from vegas last month and now I'm going back with them in March - and I was there just a couple of years ago. I'm sending my mom that car rental link.

Argh, Jupiterak,

YOU'RE A BUM! Now ya got me droolin'! I wonder how long it would take to rent the Viper and roundtrip it to the Silver State race? I've always wanted to rent a REALLY fast car and run that race...

Gofish,

Just be sure you have enough $$ for the $1.00 per mile fee after you reach 75 miles.
Also I forgot to add. Dream Car Rentals put aftermarket rev-limiters on all their performance cars. If you redline the engine; the engine will shut down and cannot be restarted. You'll have to call a tow truck take it back to the rental shop. Plus they'll fine you $600.00!! I had to sign and accept this policy before they let me have the car.

Jupiterak, Have you ever been on safari in Africa? That's the car rental place I saw, a lot of nice rides there.

Have fun but be careful if you rent a fast car in Vegas. Last Saturday night-Sunday morning two guys in a rental vett had been up all night and were late for a flight. They hit a pickup head on near the airport....there were fatalities.....per the local news. By all means have fun, just be careful.

I love to, but can't afford it. Way too expensive. At the show, most Afican Safari Hunts were over $20,000. And that wasn't including airfare.
