Parking Violation
Parking Violation
Alright so I had to be at out campus library at 1 to work on a group project. So I go to the closet lot to the library, probably a block away, and its completely full. So i was like alright I got classright after this I'll just park the red rocket in the lot I normally do and walk three blocks to the library no biggie. Get to the parking lot kinda in a hurry since I had to be there in 10 mins and no sots were open except a few in the back of the lot which last semester were student slots but this semester are teacher lots. Now Idk the exact number but its pretty close to a 1:1 ratio of student toteacher parking now in this lot and students still park there all the time. So I'm like ok I'll just back er in here and leave it. Well I go from the library straight to class since we pretty much worked up to class time. I come out of class to find a freaking parking ticket on my windshield wipers. I'm like are you freaking serious!! Yea its teacher parking but its in the very back row of the lot! The teachers have plenty of parking and always always have 3-4 spots open without using any of the back row. It makes no sense why they would now make this teacher parking. The thing that really bites my tail is you have these hunks of junk people call cars not even parked in the parking spots most days (because like i said there isn't a whole lot of student parking) and I've never seen a parking ticket on them. But no one of the nicer vehicles that i've seen on campus (and there is a lot of nice ones but also a lot of junkers) gets a freaking $15 parking ticket. Not that $15 is a ridiculous proce but still! $15 for parking in the very back. Hell If i would have known I was going to get a ticket I would have at least parked up in the very front and save myself a hundred steps or so.... Campus polic officers are such jokes
Good lord, its 5 bucks at Tarleton and is the same school system.

Well here they give out so many tickets that they have to have a separate department for parking enforcement, etc. This of course leads to greatly increased costs as apposed to smaller schools where the campus police take care of it. They want those receiving tickets to pay for 100% of the cost of ticketing/enforcement. That's why our tickets are so outrageous...when you get a ticket you are paying the salary of the person giving you that ticket.
Oh and another thing I found out was something absolutely ridiculous and I'd love for them to try to give me a ticket for this. A buddy of mine is in surveying so he's constantly outside surveying stuff and evidently one of the campus cops stopped like 15 people and gave them tickets for walking in the grass! WTF! Where does it say you cant walk in the grass. I honestly think that they made the back section of the parking lot teacher parking just so they can write tickets. Its complete B.S. And I noticed a kid I went to High School with, his mom is a teacher or something at our local community college and she was freaking parked in student parking! You think she got a ticket? Doubtful. I'm getting so frustrated with college. A buddy of mine and me are thinking of saying F it and go to lineman school and work for the energy plants around here as a lineman. I hate the campus police. Its funny that they think they are "real" policemen, riding around on bikes and golf carts or in there two squad cars. They're basically worthless.

I swear, the more stupid stuff I read like this, the more I believe that America is corrupting itself.

I've had a couple run-ins with campus cops. The best one was when I got pulled over once for speeding and running a stop sign on a bicycle while bringing an inhaler for girl who was running in a XC event on my team. She left it on the van, and she would've been in lots of trouble if I didn't rush my butt over there. I told the rent-a-cop that it was an emergency and waived the inhaler and just took off... he followed me over there and then he said, "Don't I ever catch you doing that again!" and drove off. I was like... "Wtf?!"...

Sorry to hear about your ticket. College and Parking Tickets go hand in hand though, sort of like government and bailouts. There's no avoiding them. And no, you shouldn't drop out of school to become a lineman, wite it off as a $15 learning experience and get your degree. You'll be glad you did.
4.6 Punisher, thats what i thought about doing but they got my license plate number as well..
jk007, I'm majoring in business administrations..and I;m not sure where I wanna go with that yet. I dont for see myself sitting behind a desk all dam day long. Linemen make good money really, for around here anyway. Plus about 10 mins down the road Duke energy is building a new plant so I'd be garunteed a job straight out of school. The only thing I could think of that i want to do with the major i'm in now is either insurance agent, or something like H&R Block. Other than that I dont forsee myself being CEO of some multimillion dollar company. I'm going to get my associates degree in Bussiness Adminstrations but after that idk I might try and go for the lineman school. See I have to transfer to a 4 year college to get my bachlor degree and idk if i can stand to stay another 2 years after next year...
You guys have no idea how lucky you have it. On Clemson's campus our parking services group has earned the nickname "Parking *****". They are crazy about any little thing.
They once gave me a ticket for parking in a pull-around area where people drop luggage off at. It was the end of the semester and I was carrying a couch down to my truck. I was parked in an area designated for stuff like that and they still gave me a freakin' ticket!!
Another time it was between semesters and not a soul was on campus. I went down to the bookstore and there were maybe 2 other cars in the parking lot. I parked in a timed space for visitors since no one was there (and I didn't want to walk a mile to get there). I put money in the meter and they still gave me a ticket...
I disputed both of these tickets and luckily they "let me off".
The first ticket would have been $60 and the visitor meter ticket would have been $90. It's insane how dirty they get when it comes to this stuff. They will get you for anything. My roommate did a research paper on them and apparently they have several million that they collect each year on fines that is being spent on something but can't be accounted for...
