Fog Light Question
I have a 2000 F-150 4x4 with Fog Lights. One of my Fog Lights keeps going out. I have tried to get a bulb from many auto stores, but they do not have this the bulb that will fit it. The last one I replaced I had to order from Ford and it took 3 months to get in. The bulb that came from Ford is a Sylvania Brand Bulb. Do you have any idea where I can get a new one. Also the bulbs are breaking. They just don't go out they break and im sure the old glass is in the Fog Light Part. Do you have any ideas why these bulbs keep breaking. Maybe im too hard on it off-road. I have not hit anything with the front of my truck to cause this.
Thanks for your help

Wes...
What kind of bulb is it? Do you know the number? (I have a '97 and my fog lights are standard #9006 bulbs) Your owner's manual should give you the bulb # then you could try J.C. Whitney or another mail-order company, they usualy have lot's of bulbs.
Your bulbs could be blowing because they've been "touched" during the installation process. As I understand it even just touching the bulb incidentally while you are installing it leaves oil from your skin on the surface of the glass and causes it to blow... I always wipe the bulb off very carefully with alcohol on a cotton ball just before I slip it into the housing. Try that with your next bulb.
