Post Kia Rio

My brother is on a very limited income. His old beater finally went to the graveyard and he was comtemplating what his next beater should be. He had been buying them cheap and then purchasing parts for them every month (or week).

He showed up at my door this weekend with a 2001 Kia Rio. They must have some kind of rebate because he got it under invoice. He paid less than $8000 out the door. The car has no options but, it does have a 5/60 bumper to bumper and a 10 year powertrain.

He put no money down, pays $151 a month and won't be buying anything for it for the next five years.

He should get thirty or forty miles to the gallon. It has a 96hp, 1.5L and the car weighs 2200lbs.

Just goes to show you there's something for everyone.
(I'm not sure where he parks it. I think he sleeps under a bridge)

Maybe that's what I need. I just figured my budget for 2001 and it's negative on almost every month oops (Student Loan payback time).
I don't think anybody around for miles sells them though. Don't want to imagine hitting a deer or cow in one of those little things.

You can get a new Daewoo for under ten grand also. I keep hearing them advertised on the radio. The radio commercial says,

"They are the car with German engineering and Italian styling"

Almost sounds too good.

Doesn't Daewoo make the "give away" VCR's at electronic stores? You know the ones on sale for $44. Scary.

Cool

Not a bad looking car for the money. I think I will stick to my truck for now

Looks like an escort with sharper headlamp lenses. I guess it's an OK car... Ford owns a majority of Kia, so he's really just helping out my profit sharing. Tell him I said thanks. :-)
