Stupid grass

Whats up everyone, with all the wild threads up right now this probley wont get much luck.

But anyho imma try. 2 years ago I added 20ft of driveway next to my concret one. Its gravel and I was in a hurry and didn't kill the grass or cover it to keep it from coming up like a dummy.

Well now 2 years + later im dealing with the grass coming up through the graveled area pretty bad, I have sprayed the top of the line weed killers on it a few times. The grass is pretty much making its way all over the thing. So my question is, is there anything you guys recommend doing? I have heard burning the grass off but I contacted a retired chief and he said that would make it worse. I heard of pouring gas or karosine on it but wtf that would stink and be nasty. Then I heard maybe doing colorox or something. I dunno I need some advice.?!

You need more gravel...
Or dig it up...put a layer of heavy black plastic down...put gravel back.

Otherwise you will always be fighting nature.

Before spending a ton of money getting it redone or anything you could try vinegar. It's pretty cheap and will lower the pH balance. Should "burn" the grass. Worth a shot, imo.

Good one writing it down now! Thanks Mblouir!

OldDog that will be my final answer in this game, If none of the "tricks" will work im going to just move the logs out about another 2ft and have a buddy come and scrape it all back down, spread whats there out another 2ft wide and probley 20ft long. Then I will get a Shiz ton of covering and lay it down on top of it. Then get me another 16 tons of abc and be done with it.

Actually thats what I need to do anyway but theres gonna be a retaining wall problem and that is $ I dont have at the time.

Just remember grass needs water, air and light to grow. You cant stop the water and air.

There are many temp fixes but they will all be temporary.
Only thing I know will not wash away for a while is that 4 month Roundup.
Spray it 2 or 3 times a year and you will be grass free.

I have never tried roundup on a large area like that, but in sidewalk cracks it works like a champ!!!

I've always used Ortho Triox on problem areas. Never on an area that big though. Once applied, it would usually take a good 2-3 years before anything would start to grow in that area again.

Man after watching napolean dynamite I wanted a lamma named tina so bad. But no I once had a rental which was near the lake here. It was super nice except it was flooded with kudzu. Which is a southern type weed that can grow like 1ft a day or some crap.

Anyway we had arranged the keeping of a pig, all I had to do was stake him out in the back yard and let him eat. There teeth are perfect for pulling weeds and all the roots up. The land lord was gonna take 100 bucks off my rent if I made sure he was taken care of and staked him out daily lol.

We ended up not even taking the place cause she refused to put A/c in it so..
I picked up some Roundup extended something bout a hour ago or so. I have used it before and it at least did the job for the time being. Im also gonna test try the vinegar thing.
