Seeking advice re: brake fluid leaking...
F-150 4X4 , 2000 model year with the 6cyl ( 4.2L, I believe), with 109k miles.
I've only owned her for about a year, don't drive CRIS ( her name), that much, about 5k in the last year.
She sort of suddenly developed bad brakes, light came on, pedal spongy, went to floor. I happenned to be right near a K-Mart ( I know they suck, LOL !). So, I bought a pint of #3 brake fluid, topped of the master cylinder...that worked for about a minute ! fluid is leaking out from a brake line ( when brakes are used), it's driver side, just behind the cab.
I had CRIS towed ( I have AAA) to my somewhat trusted mechanic about 35 miles from where I was at, this happened on Sat night. This guy won't look at her until Monday, of course.
What am I likely looking at for a repair bill ? What is likely wrong ?, just a rusted out line ? CRIS lives in Connecticut, probably never garaged.
Could this be a a repair Ford might cover under some TSB ? ( I doubt that).
Any thoughts appreciated...

i'm guessing its the line that goes over the gas tank? thats the most common one i've seen blow on any vehicle(ford, chevy, dodge, toyota, honda, etc). mud and dirt gets trapped up there and rots the line. mine blew right in the driveway at my dads shop. i used steel line with corrosion resistant coating on it. it shouldnt cost much.
I had to get brake lines replaced on a Beretta about 3 years ago. They were the 2 lines from the junction block on top of the rear axle to the wheel cylinders. Copied from my bill:
2 brake lines: $7.84
4 brake fitting adapters: $11.96
1 container brake fluid: $4.95
Labor - R&R brake lines, bleed brakes: $83.80 ($80/hr)
