highboys didnt have twin I-beams. F100's and 2wd's only, 250's and 350's have a solidfront axle most often the d44. The term highboy is quite debatable but is most often refered to from the divorced transfercase that f250's had in those years.

I went to school there myself, is the cowboybar still open??? you friends with any "teckers"??

I just have one sticker..its the buckin bronc so i could also just be a sticker from wyoming. lol. I dont know any "techers" but i usually go out racing on grand and 3rd on the weekends with it. The cowboy on 2nd and the cowboy on 3rd is still open

I do stand corrected. Dealing with trucks from that time period is a thing of my past, and evidently a lot more distant past than I had thought. Doesn't help that I never got to mess with a 4x4 of that year that was actually on it's own frame and not a later model F-350 frame or something of that nature.

At any rate, beautiful truck, love it! Please overlook any stupidity I may bestow upon your posts.
