What media player do you use?

I've got the usual Media Player 11.0 and I absolutely hate the thing. It's constantly asking for permission to get on the internet regardless of if I am wanting to view a move/vid or not. My firewall pretty much keeps it shut down but the constant asking is getting to me. So, what suggestions do you have? I also hate Real Player which has the same issues and it try's to take over everything. I won't have Adobe anything except the pdf viewer because it is the same as Real Player- it wants to take over the computer. Any passive media players out there for XP?

VLC media player. It will play just about anything, and while installing it you can set up which media types you want associated with it.

I have 4 media players on this box (Win2K) - Windows 9, VLC, Musicmatch 7.5, and Media Player Classic with Real Alternative and Quicktime Alternative.
