Post Can you change your screen name?

I am wondering if it is possible to change my screen name, or do I have to just create a new name, and loose all my old posts?
Thanks
Don

Raoul can allways count on you for a laugh.

I tried to set up a new name but it won't let me set another name with my e-mail.

How can I set up a new name?

I can (and have) changed peoples screen names on my Complaint Dept. Board, but it isn't UBB and I don't have 8,000 members.
I believe you will have to re-register.

Hi Don,

Unfortunately, you cannot change screennames with this particular message board software. I'd do what was recommended above, create a new account with a "free" email account, but use one that allows automatic forwarding. That way, you can forward any mail sent to that account to your primary mail account and never miss a beat...

Steve

I don't see why you need to change your name anyway. 500+ posts and a birthday of 11-08-99 will have a lot more clout in the Lightning Forum than being a 'Junior' with slick moniker.

I can understand somebody with a name like:
'97workmodel w/o power steering'

but, after all your parents named you 'Don', what will they think if they find out what you're trying to do?

Whatever you decide, don't stay locked up in there like the rest of them. Socialize with the rest of us, in other words 'Remember where you came from'.

Yahoo and Hotmail can easily be setup as a pop mail account and your email program will automatically download all messages from there whenever it checks for mail from your isp's mail server.

I have two yahoo.com accounts and I don't even have to go to yahoo.com at all. I have it setup to automatically delete all messages that Outlook Express grabs. I didn't do that at first and ended up with a full mailbox at yahoo.

BTW, yahoo now allows 6 megs (or is it 6.5 megs) of mail to be stored there. Used to be 3.

When you reply to a message from a service like yahoo.com, make sure you click on the arrow to the right of your email account on the New Message window. It will list your mail accounts and you can choose from which one to send from. That's assuming you use Outlook.

Hope this helps.

BTW, why do you want a new name? Are you gonna post as an "alter ego?" Will we see Raoul #2 soon?

I heard hotmail no longer provides pop3 access, but will continue to support it for those that have already been using it. I wouldn't use it anyway, BIG security issues!
But then, I don't use outlook either.

Doesn't your isp allow a couple of email boxes?

What is wrong with your name anyway?

Maybe Steve could delete you as a user and you could sign up again?
