Tea Party

Has anyone else received this email?
Would definitely make a statement
Subject: Tea Party

There's a storm abrewin'. What happens when good, responsible people keep quiet? Washington has forgotten they work for us. We don't work for
them. Throwing good money after bad is NOT the answer. I am sick of the midnight, closed door sessions to come up with a plan. I am sick of Congress raking CEO's over the coals while they, themselves, have
defaulted on their taxes. I am sick of the bailed out companies having lavish vacations and retreats on my dollar. I am sick of being told it is MY responsibility to rescue people that, knowingly, bought more house
than they could afford. I am sick of being made to feel it is my patriotic duty to pay MORE taxes. I, like all of you, am a responsible citizen. I pay my taxes. I live on a budget and I don't ask someone else to carry the
burden for poor decisions I may make. I have emailed my congressmen and senators asking them to NOT vote for the stimulus package as it was written without
reading it first. No one listened. They voted for it, pork and all.

O..K. folks, here it is. You may think you are just one voice and what you think won't make a difference. Well, yes it will and YES, WE CAN!! If you are disgusted and angry with the way Washington is handling our taxes. If you are fearful of the fallout from the reckless spending of BILLIONS to bailout and "stimulate" without accountability and responsibility then we need to become ONE, LOUD VOICE THAT CAN BE HEARD FROM EVERY CITY, TOWN, SUBURB AND HOME IN AMERICA. There is a growing protest to demand that Congress, the President and his cabinet LISTEN to us, the American Citizens. What is being done in Washington is NOT the way to handle the economic free fall.

So, here's the plan. On April 1, 2009, all Americans are asked to send a TEABAG to Washington , D.C. You do not have to enclose a note or any other information unless you so desire. Just a TEABAG. Many cities are organizing protests. If you simply search, "New American Tea Party", several sites will come up. If you aren't the 'protester' type, simply make your one voice heard with a TEABAG. Your one voice will become a roar when joined with millions of others that feel the same way.

Yes, something needs to be done but the lack of confidence as shown by the steady decline in the stock market speaks volumes.

This was not my idea. I visited the sites of the 'New American Tea Party' and an online survey showed over 90% of thousands said they would send the teabag on April 1. Why, April 1?? We want them to reach Washington by April 15. Will you do it? I will.

Thank You!
Linda Gelbhaar

Send it to;
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Washington , D.C. 20500 .

I've heard of this. It might make people feel better but I believe that the only one's getting a message are the ones working in the mail room at the White House.

There are many different versions of this. Some are saying that the tea bags should be sent to our representatives in congress.

I think a lot of people are going to take part in this. That's good that people want to do something. There is more that people can do though. It requires time an effort that a lot of us don't feel we have after the time we spend just living our lives.

We can make a difference but it's not going to be easy. There just aren't enough people who see a problem with what the government has, and is doing. To some, just the absence of Bush is good enough. Since the beginning of this "financial crisis" our government has made moves to remove the people from the government. We've become such a passive nation that we're ok with that. We've forgotten that they work for us. Some day, we'll realize the need to tell them so and demand that they do the job we've elected them to do or hit the road. It would be great if that could happen sooner than later, considering the speed with which the government is taking control of more and more aspects of our lives. People need to wake up though. I just see to many people asleep, even though there are some of us who are calling out for them to WAKE THE HELL UP!!!!

Send a tea bag. It's something, if only pissing off the people in the mail room. Send the tea bag then look around. There are people out here who want to do something but don't know what to do. Find those people and work with them. If we don't take back our government soon, there might not be anything left to take back.

That's just me though.

I guess first I'd have to decide what I'm protesting. The whole situation seems like it was a conspiracy
I even tried to watch Lil Bush, so I could get some insight, I couldn't get the links to work.
The man is spending money like crazy, but at the same time, it was all handed to him on a silver platter. Paybacks are hell for us.
I think we need to mail three tea bags each, the House and Senate deserve one also.

I think that's where a lot of people are right now. The direction that I keep being pointed to is the lack of adherence to the principals of the Constitution.

We live in an information age. It's a good time to take a history lesson.

History can even be deceiving. History has changed in my lifetime. The history taught in our schools today is much different than what was written when Andy Griffin was sheriff.
