I have bought a house, and now have to shut off utilities and reconnect at new house. Long story short, talk.com sent me a $50 check to switch long distance (and local in fine print) now I am with them. I asked to be disconnected on Dec. 20, they disconnected on Nov. 20 (and acknowledge it is there fault). Besides that, they sent my bill (due 10/31) on 11/15 and also billed me prior to the date I started service with them. The bills have been cleared up but yesterday at 9:00 the cust service agent said they would have me reconnected in 24 hours. Well its been 26 and still no phone. When you call they put you through 5 or 6 cust. support people (each a little more inept than the last).
Me: My phone is off.
Them: Let me verify your records.
5 min later
Them: I will switch you to the repairs.
Me: Its not a repair for the 10th time, you disconnected on the wrong day.
Them: Please hold
5 min
Them: Let me switch you
Them2: Please give me your telephone number, please verify your address, please hold...

Them2: How can I help?
Me: Phone go bad, need help
Them2: Let me switch you to the appropriate dept.
Me: What dept is this?
Them2: What?
Me: What is your dept?
Them2: Please hold...

Them2: Let me switch you...please hold
5 min
Them3: Please give me your telephone number, please verify your address, please hold
5 min
Them3: The system is down, I can answer any general questions...
Me: gurgle...phone...gurgle...help
