As I recollect, there was an old fart who called a college womens basketball team "nappy headed hoes". I believe that his name was Don Imus. Was he deserving of losing his job? The NAACP thought so, as did Sharpton and Jackson. So tell me, why Obama should not be impeached? It there a double standard? Are racist remarks more snide hthan comments about birth defects? Those who are the recipients of racial slurs can at least defend themselves, whereas those with physical and mental disabilities cannot.

I would like for someone to educate me as to the difference. As it stands now, it seems there are different rules for blacks, and it creates further animosity within people, who no fault of there own, where born white.

Has the term "*****" now become acceptable because our president can make crass comments against the challenged? If the most famous black man in country can make fun of the "physically and mentally challenged", then the term "****" should become acceptable if Obama is not impeached or resigns. I myself am not condoning this, but instead, am applying the SAME set of rules that the left applied to Don Imus. One could not, and should not be able to justify the crucification and firing of Don Imus without having to call for the resignation of Obama . This makes for for a very interesting dilemma in the terminology that we use daily. What has now become acceptable and unacceptable? Can we now refer to Obama as the *****? If he stays, the answer is yes. If he leaves office, would he further the advancement of race relations. This is a serious question.

As for myself, I condemn the comments that Imus and Obama made, but I giggled at each. What does that make me? Do I think each of them are deserving of losing their jobs? No, I do not. But the end question actually needs to be contemplated by the left and those fighting for the black cause. "If we got Imus fired, must we apply the same principals to Obama?" If their answer no, then they are nothing more than self serving hypocrites.

I guess my real question is this. Is being the recipient of a slur based on your skin color more insensitive than than that of a mental or physical challenge. Is one really greater than the other, and how does one justify their reasoning?

 

The comment was insensitive. This is what happens when Obama strays from his teleprompter. There are a lot of firsts with this President; first Pres on a late night TV show and the first Pres to use a teleprompter for EVERY appearance.

If you have to use a prompter for every appearance, whose words are you really speaking?

Just an FYI, Don Imus got a job with another network for his television show. I'm not sure about radio, but he is definitely on another TV network. He also had Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton yelling through mega phones threatening to boycott any network or radio station that played Imus.

 

But having someone else right them for you is obviously ok even though you cant pronounce half the words on it anyway, correct?

 

It's one thing to have someone WRITE your speeches, but it's another to have to use a teleprompter at a party. It's a party for goodness sakes. Everyone there has been invited... Just get up there and say a few words.

This won't be the last time Obama looks like an idiot because the teleprompter messes up. He will have teleprompter compilation videos all over the internet.

Personally, his head shouldve been on a platter a long while ago. After he let the stimulus pkg through people shouldve called for a resignation. Its insanity what is passed over. Bush wouldve been annihilated by the media and impeached the day after.
