Yup. Leonids shower. I'm taking my annual trip up the mountain to watch it and wait for the sunrise the next day.

Cloudy in Kansas tonight

I went out early this morning hoping to catch a glimpse before the clouds moved in. There was just enough cloud cover that you could see the brightest stars but nothing else.

cool

I think the guys at the cnn website rally don''t know their stuff about this.Lets see here a particle of space dust burning up in our atmosphere is supposed to be visible with the naked eye.ya right......Anyway..... all the visible ones will be much larger than that.I do plan on staying up and watching this, I read in my ocal paper that this will be the most intense one since 1966 and there will not be one as intenese as this for over 100 yrs.Is it true? I don't know but I enjoy these kinds of things and won't miss it.Clear skies tonite

Good viewing in the Pac Northwest. Had to drive up in the hills to get above the fog. There were hundreds of other star gazers out and about. Most we saw was six to eight meteors per minute. Still, it was the best "star shower" I've ever seen. I'd give it two thumbs up!

Smile It was great down here

We woke at 4 am last night and took the truck out to the everglades. We took beach chairs which fold all the way out and spread them out in the bed. We had a couple of blankets and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. Stars everywhere and we saw tons of falling stars. It was beautiful. I just hope one of those wishes come true because I got to make a lot.

There's No better way to star gaze then in the Bed of the pickup. It was AWESOME!!

one word

Spectacular show before the fog rolled in.I did see a rather large one( about 10-15 times larger than an average size one last nite) at around 8:00pm pacific time.It made all the others pale in comparison. When it first entered the atmoshere it was a whitish color and started changing orange quite rapidly and right before it burned up it turned the sane color blue as gas stove flames are.Absolutely beautyfull.....

This sucks, I went out, it was cloudy and COLD. blankets and a coat were no match for the cold, it shot through me like a glass of vodka. After all of that I saw nothing.

Guys,

For those interested, fireworks tonight or tomorrow night.
Watch the skies.

I hope I'll be able to see it this year.
Weather forecast is looking good, clear skies.
