Post plastic bristled snow brushes

Went out this weekend & bought one of those brushes to brush the snow off the truck. The only ones I could find had plastic brushy parts. I'm kinda afraid to use it on the painted surfaces (hood & roof). What does eveyone else do for removing snow? The truck is outside 24/7 so I know I'm going to be brushing off a lot of snow. I used the brush on the hood today without even thinking about it hope it didn't hurt anything.

Also I have a Ford Factory soft Tonnau. Should I take it off for the winter?

Cool

I wouldn't use it. I never brush the snow off my truck. I use my hands (gloves) to get the snow off around the wipers then take off. It blows off or slides off.

Thumbs up

I too am going to use my gloved hands to brush it off the wipers, then put this bad boy in 4WD and blow the snow off. Nothing like plowing through snow and having it blow off onto whimpy truck wannabee Subarus.

Bring on winter!

HaHa I thought I was the only one! Man I love the snow! I just remove a little off the windshield, turn on the heater, go back in the house, take a dump LOL!!!, go back out and drive off (shoot forgot my coat).

Any way people hate me around here because of all the snow off my tonneau cover and such creates a "make-shift" snow storm for whomever follows me Put the sucker on 4x4 and blast through snow drifts and snow banks I pissed of the plow company last winter because I always parked in some snow piles, never letting it grow

People think I'm nuts, a nice clean spot waiting for me and I just drive "BANG" into the snow bank and park it their! I do swear after sinking up to my knees in snow but oh well...

I remember a friend played a joke and asked the plow guy to make a big snow bank AROUND my truck! That was a pain! More so for my friend because I got out hehe!

The next day I got out a little early and put 2 feet of snow on his car with a shovel

SUCKER LOL!!!

It depends on how much snow we get....But most of the time I do the clean the windshield and then drive off making a Snow Storm just like MrScot
I also like snow because when you are driving it covers your Liscense plates up, and no one can call you in for Reckless driving or Roadrage with a Big 4X4!!!!

Question

What is all this *snow* stuff y'all are talking about? Man living up North must be hard work with all that brushing and putting on coats! Now where did I put my spare shorts?

Howdy de do yall, I recon I have somewhat of the same problem. However, mine isn't with snow, it's with Bull**** and crud oil. Every time I go out into the pasture to cut some nuts or plug-a-hole, I get CR*P all over my truck. What I do to remedy the problem is like this. I drive my TRUCK thru a feild of Mesquite brush. That tends to scrape the stuff of the sides. Then I go down to the creek and make a few passes thru it real fast. That will usualy throw enough water into the air so that it falls on top of the TRUCK and clean the hood and roof. This process has only one draw-back. That is, by the time I make it back to the house I got CR*P all over my TRUCK agin. O-Well.

Drinking my last cold beer.

Harleyrider-
Well all of us Northerns could always load our trucks up with coolers of snow and bring it down to you....Then you would know what it is.
Just remember, without the North, you would be that much closer to cold of the North Pole!!!!!

I appreciate all that y'all do up there! I still have some of that mud for you but I have to store it in my pool cause we haven't seen rain in months. We actually almost set a new record of 41 days without rain, but we got a trace .01" last Saturday so that counts. My driveway has not seen puddles since early Sept.. Keep the cold but send us some H2O pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze!

I usuall brush down to an inch of the paint and push that off, let the rest melt/blow off.
Leave the tonneau cover on, it will be fine, run with mine all year round. (live int he Clolorado mountains, so no shortage of snow or cold weather.

thanks harleyrider for you words of encouragement. here in Ohio, it's getting close to bedtime for my Sportie. the days are shorter and colder. the only thing i get to look forward to is going to the harley dealer every weekend and drooling all over the showroom floor. you're not very nice!! by the way, my girlfriend and I went to Myrtle Beach in early September and it rained the whole week. my folks said it hasn't rained since. go figure. I need to move...

Question

Hey gearjammer,
Sorry to here about the rain getting you but thats normal along the coast.
You should bring that sportie down in May and join about 400,000 other bikers for some fun.
If you move here from Ohio, please take a driver ed. course, cause when you see an Ohio tag here they are about to do something stupid!
Does Ohio require everyone over 50 to where those horse blinder style sunglasses?
We need to confiscate those things at the border!!!!!!
Ride safe!
