Looking for new camera

So I need to buy a new digi camera. Im willing to pay up to around $200. I dont really care too much about brand. I just want the best bang for the buck. I dont really keep up with the newest and greatest cameras. I had a Kodak V603 i took to Iraq with me and I loved it. The only thing i didnt really like was that it didnt take very good pictures inside if there wasnt a lot of light. Anyways any help would be great.

My first digital camera was a Kodak and had the same issues with indoor pics. I now have 2 Canons. I recommend about ANYTHING from Canon.

If you could cough up just a little more, the Canon PowerShot SD880 IS is a fantastic camera. Around $250. Canon pretty much has this segment wrapped up. They are tough to beat.

The SX110 IS I linked is $40 cheaper and has 10x optical zoom - the 880 is only 4x optical. Optical zoom capability is quite important for versatility and quality.

I actually went cheaper for Christmas gifts for 2 of my grandkids - I gave one of them an A1000 and the other one an E1.

They sell refurbed electronics but at a huge discount. I bought a Casio 6 megapixel around 2 years ago and I have taken more then 3000 pictures with it without a problem.

Have you ever seen a refurbed Canon?

I didn't think so - it's because they seldom break.

I bought a Canon 870IS last year. It is a great point and shoot and has the "wide" angle lens which most point and shoots don't have. Looks like the current replacement for it is the 890IS which is around $230.

Like others have said just about anything Canon in the simple point and shoot camera's is hard to beat.

As I had mentioned in another thread I'm trying not to spend unnessecarily but I bought this camera today from your link. I read different reviews on other cameras but this one seems to have everything a novice could want. Got the bundle package and the tripod. Should have it by the end of the week.

Which bundle did you get? You are going to need a big SD card, the one it comes with is tiny (32mb). You need at least a 2gb card.

I would not purchase another Kodiak camera. I think canon makes the best camera's hands down. One of my favorite models is the 1100IS. Staples has it here.

Great camera.
