Will the Economy Do Away With the Ultimate Penalty?
The states that have the highest cost per execution should start by following the model of whatever state has the lowest cost per execution.
Going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing the states with the highest cost have much more delays and court costs due to litigation.
I certainly don't want an innocent man to be executed, but I also don't want guilty ones sentenced to death to spend an average of 20 years on death row while their appeal is heard, re-heard and re-heard again. Then one more time, just to be sure. That's ridiculous.
