Thumbs up

Well, I bought the book at noon and I must say that I'm glad I did. It didn't cost much and I'm not associated with the author or the publisher in any way (I don't know either of them) -- that's just my opinion.

Thumbing through it, there are about 100 different stories and they all seem positive and interesting. A lot of human interest and reminiscing about older F-Series trucks and stories about more modern ones, also.

Just to pick an example at random, there's one about "Babe", a '97 F-350 CrewCab PSD that's owned by Christine Oxford from Florida. She calls herself "the little woman with the big-boy-toy" and she's painted "My Country Limo" on the fender.

The book is about 100 pages long and I think it is worth the price. If you want to order it from Canada or the US, go to amazon.com or call the publisher's free telephone number (1-800-465-6072) and read them a VISA or Mastercard number. The cost in Canadian dollars is $14.95 + $5.05 shipping and handling = $20.00 Cdn, which is about $12.00 US to the States, I think.

If you are ordering from outside Canada and the US, I would use the General Store Publishing House Web site: www.gsph.com

Or you could write to them at:
General Store Publishing House
Box 28, 1694 Burnstown Road
Burnstown, Ontario
Canada

Try this site for more on the book and some sample stories: www.toughtales.com Under Links to Other Sites, you'll find a link back to www.f150online.com, incidently.

Black 2000 SC short-box XLT. 4.2V-6, 5-speed, 3.55 limited-slip. CD, remote entry, factory side steps, FORD box liner.

My third F-series: '73 F-100 Custom 240-cube 3-speed, '98 F-150 XL-SC 4.2 5-speed, and '00 F-150 XLT-SC 4.2 5-speed. GREAT trucks!

OK call me negative
I still think she should have put all the credits in the book... IN PRINT.
Anyone can add/remove a link, and the site needs work, a lot of images don't show up.

Agree with everything you say, ATST. Still, I'd keep in mind that the publisher is a very small operation and the community of Burnstown, where it's located, is not much bigger than a country cross-roads.

I think if Steve forwarded this thread to Judy Scott or contacted her himself, he'd get an apology and a credit for the site in the next re-print, or in the sequel, and maybe in promotional material that gets sent out to media for review.

Judy Scott's personal e-mail address is printed at the back of the book: jscott@bancom.net so I don't think there's anything wrong with posting it here. I just don't think it's my place to get any further involved.

But I'm liking the book as I read it...

You can go ahead and call me an f150online 'homer'. I would much rather read about our Tina and her SD over 'Babe' and the 'country limo'.
