Hey Ed looks great! Not a bad idea. Got to hate when you spill your drink.

Now I have some questions about this because I think I'll do the same. TIA for your time:

1. When the cup holder is slid into the dash, does light protrude from around the cup holder's opening?

2. It's been quite awhile since I've installed LED's. Do LED's still require a capacitor? The last one's I installed (years ago) required a 1/4 watt capacitor before the light. Are the LED's you used true 12 volt?

I'll hit Radio Shack Monday morning if no light protrudes form a closed cup holder...

Cool

TimT that's what the A/C is for

DuckHunter there is no light showing when closed. there is only enough light to see the outline of the holder when open. They aren't that bright, start off with this 1 and if it's not bright enough for you get the next size up. The LED already has the capacitor connected to it. It says 12 VDC on the package. You can get red yellow or green.

Hmmm. I always used a resistor, not a capacitor.
