Thanks Obama for my pay raise
The day I collect a unemployment check, & am proud of it, & the fact that i got a whoppin $25.00 pay raise of tax payer money, & sit back & watch my girl work like a rented mule, & then post that fact in a forum to brag about it, is the day that I take my glock .40 & romove myself from existence on this planet!
Excuse me for not getting the sarcasm in your initial post. Hard to pick that up on the internet, you know. Would have been helpful for us to know you put your gal through school and you have put alot in for years before you got laid off.
Sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my dad seven weeks ago to a heart attack and coma, and it sucks.
Instead of bowling and beer, I would love to fix up my dad's '67 fastback and give it to my son someday. But instead I might have to sell it (and my dirt bike) to pay my income taxes and my wife's tuition for the nursing program.
Making sacrifices in a bad economy sucks for me, but I better get used to it if Washington DC keeps throwing money around.

I agree with Dave and realize my post did not come off as being funny at all with the way I typed it. I am sure other people have thought of something before & when they typed it they later realized it did not come off as being humorous at all. Well this is one of those times for me and I apologize.
Sorry to anybody that I offended or made mad at my post. I did not mean for it to come off as I was being lazy and relying on the government and my girl to carry me. I was simply trying to show people where our stimulus money is going and I feel that this is not a good place for it to be going. I worked at the company for a little more than 7 years so I did make decent money and that is why my unemployment benefits are high. My last paycheck was the first week of October & I didn't even file for unemployment until mid November as I was trying hard to find a job and I was letting my pride get in my way. Only place around my area hiring was for christmas help working 3 hours a night for 3 days a week making $6.85 an hour. Right now I am trying to get on at Lowes or Meijers for a full time position making less than half of what I made at my previous job but I am tired of being jobless and on unemployment. In this economy I have learned a job is a job no matter what the pay is. This is something I have learned from being on unemployment and hopefully I will never again have to collect it. I can collect unemployment for up to a full year if I wanted to but I realize thats not practical so wish me luck on the two jobs that I am being interviewed for !
A Lot of things are just taken too seriously.
But it would be hard to think of you bragging about a $25 pay raise anything but sarcasm. But that's just the way things are. You just have to roll with the punches.
I have taken a pay cuts also, and it really hurts with kids in college. But we'll make it through this without a whole bunch of bullets.
Enjoy your raise and wait for the right job, and only settle for less when you have to. You have paid in to the program as much as any here % wise. I've most of my life been self employed and never collected a dime employment security, so take some of mine and get your education. I highly recommend technical fields, as there are not going to be many jobs in the biz fields for some time to come. Unless you have some fresh ideas.
Most of the self made people in history didn't do it because they had a degree under their belt. They did it because they had the ability to think.

You backpeddled in post #6 and already apologized in post #13.
It's called Unemployment Insurance, not Welfare.
At some point the proper response is, bite me.
NAAAHHHH! You prolly taste like goat
