E-Checks?
I've got a person paying me with one now. I'm waiting for it to go through before sending the stuff, I'll let you know how it goes.
We have them up here but all they do is check the OBDII and look for your cats.
When I lived in Delaware they checked all your tires, braking pressure, lights, horn, tint on windows, emissions, everything. It really sucked going through inspection there. I had to redo my tint twice.

Okay, I have someone that wants to buy my rims and tires, but he said that an echeck is the only way he can pay, just seemed kinda fishy, so I wanted to see if anyone had dealt with this before. Let me know how it goes. thanks

If I remember correctly, my bank issued a statement they would not accept them. Chase Bank.

Okay, so here is the deal, i put my rims for sale on craigs list, like Thursday. On friday morning, I got an email asking if they were available, I responded they were. Saturday morning, I got another email letting me know that they wanted them but the only way to pay would be by echeck, but the only thing I had to do was buy some check paper, this is the fishy part, but once I received the echeck, i could wait for it to clear before shipping. Now I am thinking no harm no foul if the check does not clear right? Today he says that he can not do pay pal because he has been screwed before. But with all of the responses not once does he refer the the rims, it is always "this item" and looks very preformed, SCAM, but I am not sure. Also the name on the emal of who it came from on Yahoo, is different than the name he signed one email with his location. What do you guys think
Are you giving out your bank and account info?
Like I mentioned before, there was a notice in my last bank statement saying that the bank would not honor echecks. They would do wire transfers and Debt Cards only. I didn't know what an echeck was.

IMO...I would be extremely leary of it. If you're going to have to wait for the e-check to clear, why can't the guy just overnight you a real check and you send the merchandise when the real check clears your account? I would think it would be worth the extra 2 or 3 days you will have to wait to be sure you're not getting screwed. If the guy wants the items bad enough, he should be willing to get you a real check. And... since he's supposedly been "screwed" on a transaction before, he should be very understanding of the situation.
That is what I was thinkin, I asked about even a casheiers check, but no response yet. I am very leary and want to sell my wheels and don't care to who but just don't understand why he is saying that he can only do it one way and not want to chage. Thanks for the opinions
Sorry man, I'm almost certain it's a scam. Google E-Check Craigslist scam and you'll come up with a fair amount of hits. With no effort at all, here's a blog I pulled sounding very similar to your situation. Personally, I wouldn't risk it. Tell him cash or nothing:
