Hate to put a kink in your plans, seacrow, but you need to take into account the total height of the vehicle with the cap on. It may keep you out of a lot of parking structures. I'm guessing the floor height of the F150, especially that of a 4x4, is a lot higher than the van's. So, getting the same interior height would force you to go to a higher exterior height.

I actually changed stock brokers because my original broker moved into a building that has a parking structure that doesn't have enough clearance for my truck.

Cool

Well, I am married now. It wasn't so bad.

Dennis, I am taking my time on this whole thing. I have a 4x2 and the load hieght on it as compared to my current van is a little higher. ON a brand new E-250 it may be a little lower. I have some more critical measurements to take.

I changed stock brokers because my old one was a moron

Congratulations!

"It wasn't so bad." Geeze, seacrow! Couldn't you be a tad more enthusiastic about it?

Hey!! Aren't ya supposed to be on a honeymoon or sumthin? What are you doing online? LOL.

BTW, all stock brokers are idiots, but so long as they do what you tell them, it's not a problem. The only reason I keep a local broker is for information on local businesses and for getting IPOs. He wasn't too happy when I moved 50% of my portfolio over to an online broker, but like I told him, "Lucky it wasn't 100% of it."

Cool

We are thinking of going to North Carolina for a honeymoon but I can't get out of here until maybe October. Ahhh, the thrill of self employment.

I am glad to be married now. I was truly scared to death of it having spent many years of my life digging out of my short-lived first marriage. My family and friends really pulled through for me. We had a great time and it was nice having everyone in town.

North Carolina is a GREAT place for a honeymoon.
It's very laid back there.
At all the restaurants the sign only says'

"No Shirt, No Service"

And if you go to the beach, you can get into most restuarants with just a bathing suit on A lot of them, you can simply order and wait at a table outside, you don't even need shoes there!!!
Funny, you're coming up here in Oct, and we're going down to Flordia for a Ford-Diesel Rally.

Tina, what part of Florida?

I am still up in the air about the van or topper thing. I am leaning towards the van. I would hate to be disappointed with the topper. I know the van will work.

Seacrow,

If I had your needs, I'd go with the van. The stuff in the back will be much easier to get to with all the extra doors and accessibility from the driver's seat.

When I had my stores, I had a van and the truck. We tended to use the van for hauling stuff around because of the side doors. Made loading and unloading much easier.

If I had a cap on the back of the truck, I would have been able to haul the same stuff around, but OH, my aching back! It would have been really tough to always have to climb/crawl in to get stuff that was pushed all the way to the front of the bed.

The other thing to consider, at least in my case, was the van's cargo area was air conditioned. The truck's cargo area would be hot all the time in the day.

SeaCrow: were headed to Homosassa Springs. We'll be staying at Turtle Creek Campground from Thurs evening to Sunday morning (Oct 5-8) If you're close, come on by, would love to meet you and the new wife. AND you would get to see a lot of Ford Diesels. Check out Andthensometoo's site, she's got pictures of my truck so you can pick it out from all the other trucks that will be there. But of course, mine is the only one with "unaFORDable" in gold on the tailgate
