Very mixed reviews across the web... they're on woot.com ALL THE TIME at a very good discount.

I have one, as well as the scooba. They are awsome, just remember they are a maintainence tool. Also you need to keep the floor picked up (challenge here!) Also if your furniture is just at the right height it can get stuck (the scooba more so).

I had a ripoff roomba (zooma or something like that) and it wasn't all that bad. My ex got it as a gift, and since I never vacuumed she "donated" it to me. I could have lived with out it, but at least it was entertaining to watch the cat hunt it for hours.

We're on our second Roomba. First one went haywire after about 5 years so after trying to fix it I just trashed it and bought another. They work great and the wife loves it. She's a neat freak so it doesn't take the place of her real cleaning but she does use it a lot in between. I like how this newer on now slows down before hitting something.
I also have the Dirt Dog for my hobby room in the basement. It's over two years old and the battery doesn't last as long now but it still works well just not as long on a charge.

It was only interesting to the cat for a couple days when we first got it. Now the cat will lay in middle of the floor and just let it bump into him instead of moving.

Let us know how you like it after using it a few times. I was actually suprised at how good of a job they actually do.
