Angry Going away

I have decided that Im going to get rid of my 99 F-150 lariat. I have too many problems with it. It has been to the dealer 7 times in one year, and needs to go back again. It only has 20,000 miles. I had a 98 F-150 that I no problems with. I'm just going to take it to Carmax and sell it to make it somebody else's problem. I'll just drive my 10 year old car.

scott, I read about the belt tensioner pulley and the mirrors, are there other problems you haven't mentioned (8 trips to the dealer)?
I have a 99 Lariat (23k) and was wondering if I'm in denial.

Well yes I have had the drivers seat replaced and the steering wheel also. I just feel so beat up about the whole thing. The dealer as no clue what to do now with the noise comming back again.

Hey Scot,

I am originally from just down the road from you in Carrollton. I am getting rid of my F-150 too. Must be a northwestern Ga. thing. Sorry to hear about your problems. I had some minor problems with mine but I need a cargo van now. Good luck.

That is too bad about the F150, but I am in the same boat as what you are. My 99 F150 has been in the shop a total of 27 days in 9 months time....started with the oil leak on passenger side head, then new engine, new transmission, and various other things that have went wrong....I am glad to know that it isn't just me that got a bad truck....but I still want a Ford....Never have anything else other than maybe a Jeep...but then agian is there anything other than a Jeep or Ford?

I hated that this had to come to this. I don't even know what I'll buy to replace it.

I thought about that but a diesel truck is more than I really need. The up front cost is very high too. I think im going to stick with what I have now, maybe another Mustang.
