Inspections!
So I had to take my truck in to get it inspected....pretty much knew I was fine with it since its pretty much brand new and not much to it.....but boy is Virginia picky about things. The inspector came up from the shop and asked me if i had the 150 with the lights behind the grill and I said yea, he told me that they were illegal to have them without covers or I had to disconnect them....well i didnt have covers, but! I just popped my stereo surround off and pulled a wire and he passed it....never the less i pulled out the parking lot and hooked the lights back up........my question is though if I had PIAA lights that have the little grill cover would that pass as a cover?
He also said if they were to be legal Id have to wire them to my main headlights and not an auxiliary switch.
But he never did mention my blacked out third brake light or tails haha
Another guy told me having a brush guard was illegal in virginia because nothing can block the headlight?
Anybody else have picky states on inspections?

We had to take my brothers Audi S4 back at least 4 times to get it passed. They picked out every last little thing that could possibly be wrong. They tried to fail him for his battery tie down being slightly loose (i tightened it up with in the parking lot and they passed it) Maryland laws are not that bad, the inspection stations just pick the hell out of the car hoping that the customer will have their shop do all the work.
I just bring my truck by to the shadiest shop in town for my inspections. I had a burned out brake bulb in my Dakota, and they told me to just fix it, but they still passed me.
Heck, I remember at one point, my '99 F150 had bald tires and they didn't even pass the penny test and they still passed it, granted I was getting new tires within that week though.

Heh...You oughtta try the NJ DMV...Talk about ridiculous....Especially when the morons have to get in your truck to move it through the lanes, and then do the infamous brake test....Love that one...Also love that they move your seat and mirrors to do so....But at least its a 2 yr sticker now.....
Back home in new york things were different,if you had cash you got your sticker no matter what!
